Description
The Verus Engineering Vortex Generator Kit for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R is designed to improve airflow over the rear glass, reduce aerodynamic drag, and increase the effectiveness of the factory rear wing.
During development and aerodynamic analysis of the Shelby GT350R, Verus Engineering identified an area of detached airflow over the rear glass. This detached flow increased aerodynamic drag and, due to the location of the factory rear wing, reduced the quality of airflow reaching the underside of the wing. By improving airflow in this area, the vortex generators help the factory rear wing operate more effectively.
The Verus Engineering Vortex Generator Kit reduces drag and can increase downforce when used with the factory rear wing. When a Verus Engineering rear wing is installed, the drag-reduction benefit remains, but the additional downforce increase associated with improving the factory wing airflow will no longer apply.
The vortex generators are part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 1 aerodynamic package, which is designed to provide a modest increase in downforce while reducing aerodynamic drag compared with the factory vehicle.
The vortex generators are available in either 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon fiber or 3D-printed carbon nylon construction and are designed for a simple installation using 3M double-sided tape. Installation can be completed in approximately 30 minutes.

Aerodynamic Science
The Verus Engineering Vortex Generator Kit was developed as part of the Ventus 1 aerodynamic package for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R. During aerodynamic analysis, Verus Engineering identified detached airflow over the rear glass. This disrupted airflow into the region underneath the factory rear wing and contributed to increased drag.
The vortex generators are designed to energize and better control the airflow over the rear glass. This improves the airflow reaching the factory rear wing, allowing the wing to operate more effectively while also helping fill the wake region behind the vehicle.
With the factory rear wing installed, the vortex generators can reduce drag while also providing a slight increase in downforce. The aerodynamic benefit changes when paired with a Verus Engineering rear wing: the drag-reduction benefit remains, but the additional downforce associated with improving the factory wing's airflow is no longer applicable.
Testing and aerodynamic development resulted in a measured 0.003 Cd reduction, equivalent to 3 drag points, making the vortex generators a simple way to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the GT350/GT350R.
