Description
The Verus Engineering Full Brake Cooling Kit for the Subaru STI GR/GV is designed to maximize brake cooling efficiency using an OEM-style installation and the shortest practical airflow route. The system uses the OEM fog light openings as the primary air inlet, directing high-pressure ambient air through purpose-built ducts and into the center of the brake rotor.
The kit features a carefully designed inner-fender ducting system and includes all the components required for installation, including pre-cut brake cooling hoses and stainless hardware. The design allows the OEM windshield washer fluid reservoir to be retained, helping maintain practical functionality while adding dedicated brake cooling.
Verus Engineering developed the system using detailed in-house vehicle scan data, allowing the components to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish. The result is a comprehensive brake cooling solution engineered for enthusiasts who want to improve brake temperature control, reduce heat-related brake issues, and maximize braking performance during aggressive street driving, competition, and track use.
For complete compatibility, vehicles without OEM fog light bezels will require OEM or equivalent fog light bezels to properly interface with the brake cooling system.

Brake Cooling Science
Verus Engineering evaluated the brake cooling system using tuft testing and thermal imaging to determine its effectiveness, including when used with OEM brake rotors.
Factory rotors typically feature smaller internal cooling vanes than many aftermarket big-brake systems. Smaller rotor vanes can reduce airflow through the rotor and limit cooling efficiency. By directing external ambient air directly into the center of the rotor, the Verus Engineering brake cooling system helps increase the amount of cooling airflow reaching the rotor's internal ventilation channels.
Testing showed that the brake rotors remained significantly cooler immediately after brake application as well as after a short period of driving without additional brake use.
The system becomes increasingly effective as vehicle speed rises. Because the kit uses frontal ambient air and funnels it directly toward the center of the rotor, higher vehicle speeds generate greater air pressure and airflow through the cooling system.
Customer reports from track use have also indicated benefits including:
- Reduced brake fade
- Reduced rotor cracking
- Improved brake pad wear
- Reduced brake fluid boiling
- Better brake temperature control
These characteristics make the Verus Engineering Full Brake Cooling Kit a practical solution for maintaining more appropriate brake component temperatures during track days, competition, and other high-demand driving conditions.
Installation
The Verus Engineering Full Brake Cooling Kit is designed around an OEM-style installation with short airflow routing and minimal modification. The complete kit includes pre-cut hoses, ducts, brackets, clamps, backing plates, and the necessary hardware.
Installation can typically be completed within a few hours using basic hand tools and general mechanical knowledge.
Vehicles that do not have OEM fog light bezels will need OEM or equivalent fog light bezels to complete the installation.
