Description
The Verus Engineering Dive Plane (Canard) Kit for the Subaru WRX/STI GR/GV is designed to increase front-end downforce and improve aerodynamic balance without requiring the front splitter to be moved farther forward.
Dive planes provide an efficient way to add front-end aerodynamic performance while working within the existing dimensions of the vehicle. Verus Engineering used advanced aerodynamic analysis and internal vehicle scan data to optimize the dive plane design, extracting additional performance from the available build volume while maintaining an OEM-like fit and finish.
The dive planes can be installed using either the supplied 3M VHB double-sided tape or a bolt-and-nut mounting method. Paper installation templates are included to help ensure the correct installation position is achieved for maximum aerodynamic benefit.
This kit is particularly useful for vehicles equipped with larger rear aerodynamic components. By increasing front-end downforce, the dive planes help shift the aerodynamic balance forward, making it easier to balance the additional rear downforce generated by a large rear wing or rear diffuser.

Aerodynamic Science
When properly designed, dive planes can increase front-end grip and cornering speed by adding front-end downforce and helping reduce lift in other areas of the vehicle.
Verus Engineering utilized OpenFOAM CFD software during the development of these dive planes to optimize their aerodynamic performance. The design process allowed the engineers to extract more performance from the available build volume while maintaining an effective and practical front-end aerodynamic package.
The dive planes also help manage airflow around the front wheel well. By assisting with the evacuation of air from the wheel well and helping seal the sides of the vehicle, they contribute to improved airflow management around the front end.
One of the primary benefits of the dive plane kit is its ability to shift aerodynamic balance forward. This is especially valuable when a vehicle has been equipped with a larger rear wing or rear diffuser, as additional rear downforce can shift the overall aerodynamic balance toward the rear.
Adding front-end downforce through the dive planes helps counter this shift, allowing the vehicle to maintain a more balanced aerodynamic setup at speed.
Ventus 1 & Ventus 2 Packages
The Verus Engineering Dive Plane Kit is part of both the Ventus 1 and Ventus 2 aerodynamic packages for the GR/GV Subaru WRX/STI.
The Ventus 1 package provides a slight increase in downforce compared with the factory configuration while maintaining minimal aerodynamic drag impact. This makes it well suited to street-driven vehicles and enthusiasts looking for improved aerodynamic performance without a significant increase in drag.
The Ventus 2 package substantially increases downforce compared with Ventus 1, with a corresponding increase in aerodynamic drag. It was developed to provide a safe and balanced aerodynamic setup at high speeds while improving handling and vehicle confidence.
Ventus 2 is more heavily geared toward track-focused GR/GV WRX/STI builds, helping the vehicle extract more performance from its tires during circuit driving while still remaining practical enough for daily street use.
Installation
The Verus Engineering Dive Plane Kit offers two installation methods. The supplied 3M VHB double-sided tape, cut specifically to the shape of the dive planes, can be used for installation, while the included hardware provides a bolt-and-nut mounting option.
Two paper installation templates are supplied to help establish the correct mounting position on the vehicle and ensure the dive planes are positioned to provide their intended aerodynamic benefits.
