Description

The Verus Engineering Dive Plane (Canard) Kit for the Subaru WRX/STI VA adds front-end downforce without requiring the front splitter to be moved farther forward. Designed using internal vehicle scan data and advanced aerodynamic analysis, these dive planes provide a functional aerodynamic upgrade while maintaining an OEM-like fit and finish.

Verus Engineering utilized state-of-the-art aerodynamic analysis software during development to maximize performance within the available build volume. The resulting design increases front-end downforce and helps improve aerodynamic balance at speed.

The dive planes are available in single or dual configurations, allowing enthusiasts to fine-tune the amount of front-end aerodynamic load. A single unit provides a smaller increase in front-end downforce, while the dual configuration provides a larger aerodynamic effect.

The kit can be installed using either the supplied 3M VHB double-sided tape or mechanical hardware, with paper installation templates included to help ensure proper positioning for optimal aerodynamic performance.

The primary purpose of the dive planes is to shift the vehicle's aerodynamic balance forward, making them particularly useful for vehicles equipped with larger rear wings or rear diffusers that increase rear aerodynamic load.

Aerodynamic Science

Properly designed dive planes, also known as canards, can increase front-end grip and cornering performance by generating additional front downforce and helping reduce lift around the front of the vehicle.

Verus Engineering developed this dive plane kit using ANSYS CFD software to optimize aerodynamic performance within the available space. The design helps generate additional front-end aerodynamic load without requiring the front splitter to extend farther forward.

The dual-configuration design provides flexibility in aerodynamic tuning. A single dive plane configuration provides a smaller increase in front-end downforce, while the dual configuration creates a larger effect on front-end grip and aerodynamic balance.

The dive planes can also help manage airflow around the front wheel wells by assisting with air evacuation and sealing the sides of the vehicle.

Ventus 2 Aerodynamic Package

The Verus Engineering Dive Plane Kit is part of the Ventus 2 aerodynamic package for the VA Subaru WRX/STI.

Ventus 2 was developed to significantly increase the aerodynamic downforce generated by the VA WRX/STI while maintaining a safe and balanced aerodynamic setup at speed. The package is designed to help the vehicle make better use of available tire grip during track driving while increasing driver confidence during high-speed street driving.

Ventus 2 is primarily oriented toward track-focused applications, but the package can still be used on a vehicle that is driven regularly on the street.

Installation

The dive planes can be installed using either the supplied 3M VHB double-sided tape or the included mechanical hardware.

Two installation templates are included to help accurately position the dive planes on the vehicle and ensure proper placement for aerodynamic performance.
