Description
The Verus Engineering Full Brake Cooling Kit is a complete brake ducting solution for the Subaru WRX/STI VA, designed to maximize brake cooling efficiency while maintaining an OEM-style installation. The system uses the factory fog light openings as high-pressure air inlets and routes airflow through a short, efficient path directly toward the center of the brake rotor.
Verus Engineering designed the system using in-house vehicle scan data, resulting in components with a near-OEM fit and finish. The ducting layout emphasizes the shortest practical airflow path to maximize cooling efficiency while minimizing unnecessary bends and restrictions.
The kit includes everything required for installation, including pre-cut high-temperature brake hoses, stainless hose clamps, fog light ducts, fender ducts, backing plates, brackets, and mounting hardware.
By directing ambient air from the high-pressure region of the front bumper into the center of the brake rotor, the system helps maintain more appropriate brake temperatures during aggressive driving, competition, and track use.

Aerodynamic & Thermal Science
Verus Engineering validated the brake cooling system through tuft testing and thermal imaging, demonstrating improved brake cooling performance even when used with OEM rotors.
Factory rotors typically have relatively small internal cooling vanes compared with larger aftermarket big-brake systems. Smaller vanes can limit airflow through the rotor and reduce cooling efficiency. The Verus Engineering brake cooling system addresses this limitation by directing additional ambient airflow directly into the center of the rotor.
Testing showed that the rotors remained cooler immediately after braking and also maintained lower temperatures after a short period of driving without brake application.
The effectiveness of the system also increases with vehicle speed. Because the kit uses frontal ambient air and directs it toward the center of the rotor, higher vehicle speeds generate greater airflow and pressure through the cooling system.
Track Performance
Effective brake cooling is particularly important during repeated high-speed braking, where excessive temperatures can contribute to brake fade, rotor damage, accelerated pad wear, and brake fluid overheating.
Verus Engineering has received customer reports from track users indicating:
- Reduced brake fade
- Reduced rotor cracking
- Improved brake pad wear
- Reduced brake fluid boiling
These results make the Full Brake Cooling Kit a strong upgrade for enthusiasts looking to improve brake temperature control during track days, competition, and other demanding driving conditions.
Installation
The Verus Engineering Full Brake Cooling Kit is designed around an OEM-style installation and uses a short routing path between the front bumper inlet and brake assembly.
The kit includes pre-cut hoses and all required brackets, clamps, ducts, backing plates, and hardware. Installation is designed to take a few hours using minimal hand tools and general mechanical knowledge.
