Description
The Verus Engineering Hood Louver Kit for the VA Subaru WRX and WRX STI is designed to reduce underhood heat and pressure while improving engine-bay airflow. By strategically venting hot air from beneath the hood, the louvers help improve cooling-system efficiency and reduce pressure buildup within the engine bay.
During development, Verus Engineering designed the kit around the OEM hood to minimize cost, complexity, and overall weight. This approach allows the factory hood to retain its structural rigidity and shape over years of use while providing the cooling and aerodynamic benefits of dedicated hood louvers.
Purpose-built, tested, and strategically positioned, the Verus Engineering Hood Louver Kit provides a lightweight alternative to replacing the factory hood with a heavier or more complex vented carbon hood.

Aerodynamic Science
Verus Engineering utilized CFD analysis to position the hood louvers in an area of low pressure while maintaining the structural integrity of the OEM hood. This strategic placement improves the ability of the louvers to evacuate hot air from the engine bay and cooling system.
By relieving hot air and pressure from beneath the hood, the louvers help reduce underhood temperatures and pressure buildup. This can also help reduce hood flutter caused by excessive pressure within the engine bay.
Reducing underhood pressure provides an additional aerodynamic benefit by helping reduce front-end lift, resulting in a slight increase in front-end downforce.
Verus Engineering highly recommends using the supplied wickers, as they are designed to further increase air evacuation through the hood louvers.
Installation
The kit includes two dedicated cut-out templates and all necessary installation hardware. The clinch stud and nut system allows the louvers to be removed when cleaning or servicing the vents.
