The CarBahn Performance Stage 1 Performance Controller is a plug-and-play ECU tuning solution designed for select BMW 230i, 330i, 430i, and Z4 sDrive30i models equipped with the B46D and B48D engines.

The CarBahn Performance Controller (CPC) increases turbocharger boost pressure to deliver substantial gains in horsepower and torque while maintaining a straightforward installation. The controller features selectable performance maps controlled through a Bluetooth smartphone application, allowing you to choose the appropriate calibration for 91, 93, or 100 octane fuel.

With 93-octane fuel, the controller increases calculated flywheel output from 284 HP / 347 lb-ft to 328 HP / 397 lb-ft, representing gains of +44 HP / +50 lb-ft. On 100-octane fuel, output increases to 334 HP / 397 lb-ft, for gains of +50 HP / +50 lb-ft.

The CPC is ready to install and has an estimated installation time of approximately 2 hours.

CarBahn Performance Controller (CPC)

An optional powertrain warranty can be purchased with the CarBahn Performance Controller.

If you choose to trade the CarBahn Performance Controller for CarBahn software in the future, a $250 upgrade fee applies. If the optional warranty was purchased, it can be transferred to the software at no additional charge.

Emissions Legality

CarBahn notes that removing the catalytic converter with a downpipe provides a relatively small performance gain, typically around 11 HP, based on back-to-back dyno testing. Operating without a catalytic converter can make it difficult to pass required emissions testing and is illegal in certain applications and jurisdictions.

Warranty Information

Registration with CarBahn Autoworks at the time of purchase is required to maintain matching warranty coverage. CarBahn Autoworks reserves the right to deny warranty program enrollment under certain conditions.

The warranty is valid on U.S. and Canadian specification vehicles only.

If the vehicle is currently covered by the vehicle manufacturer's new car limited warranty, CarBahn Autoworks products are warranted for the remaining term of the manufacturer's new car limited warranty. The manufacturer's new car warranty is limited to 4 years or 50,000 miles, or 80,000 kilometers in Canada, commencing on the date of first retail sale or the date the vehicle is first placed into service as a demonstrator or company vehicle, whichever is earlier.

CarBahn Autoworks warranties are transferable when ownership of the vehicle into which the CarBahn Autoworks products were originally installed is sold.

The warranty will, without charge for parts or labor, repair or replace defective CarBahn Autoworks components as well as original vehicle manufacturer components that may have been directly affected by a CarBahn Autoworks component. New or authorized remanufactured parts may be used. The decision to repair or replace parts is at the sole discretion of CarBahn Autoworks.

Parts replaced under this limited warranty become the property of CarBahn Autoworks. A reasonable period must be allowed for warranty repairs to be completed.

If the vehicle is outside the manufacturer's new car limited warranty, CarBahn Autoworks will, for two years from the original purchase date, repair or replace, at its sole discretion, any defective CarBahn Autoworks component. This warranty does not include reimbursement for repairs to original vehicle manufacturer components that may have been affected by a CarBahn Autoworks component.

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

• Return shipping charges
• Towing charges
• Rental car fees
• Damage caused by installing replacement parts with specifications materially different from the original vehicle manufacturer or CarBahn Autoworks parts
• Damage resulting from unauthorized modification of a CarBahn Autoworks part or assembly
• Damage resulting from using other manufacturers' products together with CarBahn Autoworks products or systems
• Clutch damage caused by power shifting or abuse
• Brake rotor warping
• Friction materials
• Maintenance services and maintenance replacement parts such as spark plugs, lubricants, fluids, engine tune-up parts, filters, coolant, and refrigerant
• Mechanical adjustments or repairs resulting from normal wear and tear
• Drive belts
• Light bulbs
• Damage resulting from failure to perform maintenance services at specified intervals or according to the original vehicle manufacturer's or CarBahn Autoworks' product instructions
• Damage caused by negligence or abuse
• Improper installation
• Improper treatment or treatment contrary to the original vehicle manufacturer's or CarBahn Autoworks' product instructions
• Engine damage resulting from alteration of CarBahn Autoworks' original boost pressure
• Damage caused by improper or contaminated fuel
• Damage caused by corrosion resulting from weak or improper coolant
• Damage to CarBahn Autoworks components resulting from collision or improper collision damage repairs
• Vehicles operated in competitive events or subjected to aggressive track conditions
• Custom-designed competition parts
• Damages resulting from loss of time, inconvenience, or loss of vehicle use
• Damage resulting from environmental influences, flooding, accidents, fire, or road salt corrosion
• Remanufactured or refurbished products or components, except where specifically identified and covered for the warranty period specified for that product
