The Z9R hood louvers help dramatically reduce underhood temperatures by allowing hot air to escape from the engine bay. They can also reduce the temperature of the air surrounding heat-sensitive components such as ignition coils.
By providing a controlled path for hot air to leave the engine compartment, the louvers reduce pressure buildup underneath the hood, helping minimize hood flutter during high-speed driving.
As an additional aerodynamic benefit, reducing underhood pressure can reduce front-end lift and create a slight increase in front-end downforce.
Verus Engineering recommends using the supplied wicker components to further increase air evacuation and maximize the functional effectiveness of the louvers.
