The Verus Engineering C9R Hood Louver Kit with Large Vents is designed to reduce engine bay heat and underhood pressure while improving airflow through the radiator and other cooling accessories. By providing a controlled path for hot air to escape the engine bay, the louvers help improve cooling stack efficiency and overall thermal management.
Reducing pressure buildup beneath the hood can also reduce front-end lift, creating a slight increase in front-end downforce and providing an aerodynamic benefit during high-speed driving.
The C9R kit features functional wicker components designed to increase air evacuation and maximize louver effectiveness. The large vent configuration provides increased ventilation while adding an aggressive, performance-oriented appearance to the hood.

Multiple track-day enthusiasts experienced ignition coil failures during hot summer track sessions, with overheating believed to contribute to these malfunctions.
The C9R hood vents help dramatically reduce underhood temperatures by allowing hot air to escape from the engine bay. They can also reduce the temperature of the air surrounding ignition coils and other components within the engine compartment.
The louvers reduce pressure buildup beneath the hood, helping minimize hood flutter during high-speed driving. Reducing underhood pressure also provides an aerodynamic benefit by reducing front-end lift and creating a slight increase in front-end downforce.
