The Verus Engineering X63 Hood Louver Kit is designed to reduce underhood heat and pressure while improving overall cooling efficiency. By providing a controlled path for hot air to escape the engine bay, the hood louvers help improve airflow through the radiator and other cooling components, increasing the pressure differential across the cooling stack.
Reducing pressure buildup underneath the hood can also decrease front-end lift, providing a measurable aerodynamic benefit and a slight increase in front-end downforce. Each Verus Engineering louver kit incorporates functional wickers, which can significantly increase the effectiveness of the louvers when installed.
Beyond its performance benefits, the X63 Hood Louver Kit adds a purposeful motorsport-inspired appearance to the vehicle's hood. Optional rain guards are also available for most Verus Engineering hood louver applications.

Aerodynamic Science
Verus Engineering used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) during development to position the X63 hood louvers in a low-pressure area of the hood. This placement increases the pressure differential across the louver, improving the evacuation of hot air from the engine bay.
Vehicle scan data was also used to develop a louver shape that follows the OEM hood's body lines while minimizing the amount of structural material that needs to be removed. This approach helps maintain hood rigidity while allowing the louvers to integrate naturally into the overall hood design.
Underhood temperatures can become a significant concern on performance-oriented Z vehicles, particularly during demanding driving. The X63 louvers help evacuate hot air from the engine bay while encouraging cooler air from the radiator and grille area to move through the cooling system.
By increasing the pressure differential between the front and rear of the cooling stack, the louvers can improve cooling stack efficiency. Reducing underhood pressure also helps decrease front-end lift, providing an aerodynamic downforce benefit.
Installation
The X63 Hood Louver Kit includes dedicated cut templates and the necessary mounting hardware for installation. Stainless steel flush clinch studs and serrated nuts allow the louvers to be securely mounted while also making them removable for cleaning and maintenance.
