Description

Increase rear-end aerodynamic performance on your Subaru WRX VA with the Verus Engineering UCW Rear Wing Kit. Designed to significantly increase rear downforce, the UCW helps improve high-speed confidence, increase cornering performance, and reduce lap times on track.

Verus Engineering developed the UCW to bridge the performance gap between its Swan Neck High-Efficiency Rear Wing and the larger 300mm V1X airfoil. Featuring a 250mm curved-chord airfoil, the UCW generates more downforce than the high-efficiency rear wing and significantly more downforce than similarly sized competitor wings.

The airfoil was developed using state-of-the-art aerodynamic analysis software and optimized for the available build volume derived from the V1X platform. Verus Engineering also utilized CFD analysis to ensure the wing receives adequate airflow when installed and performs effectively.

In-house vehicle scan data was used throughout development to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish.

The UCW is designed for track-focused VA WRX owners who need a significant increase in rear downforce to balance a substantial front aerodynamic package.

UCW Airfoil Design

The Verus Engineering UCW was engineered to provide a substantial increase in rear downforce over the company's Swan Neck High-Efficiency Rear Wing while remaining below the larger 300mm V1X airfoil in size.

Its 250mm curved-chord design provides increased rear aerodynamic load and was optimized around the available build volume derived from the V1X platform.

The airfoil was developed using advanced aerodynamic analysis, including the ANSYS Adjoint Solver, to optimize its performance and aerodynamic efficiency.

Aerodynamic Efficiency

Verus Engineering used CFD to evaluate airflow over the UCW when installed on the VA WRX and ensure that the wing receives adequate airflow to perform effectively.

The UCW can operate across a 0–15° angle-of-attack range, allowing its aerodynamic performance to be adjusted according to the vehicle's setup and desired level of rear downforce.

CFD & Real-World Validation

Verus Engineering validated the UCW through both CFD analysis and real-world experimental testing.

The company reports a strong correlation between its CFD data and physical testing. The wing achieved the major performance goals established during the CFD development process and subsequently demonstrated those results during real-world testing.

This correlation supports the aerodynamic development approach used for the UCW and validates the wing's intended performance.

Installation

The UCW Rear Wing is designed to bolt to the OEM trunk and includes a dedicated load-transferring trunk system, machined billet aluminum mounting components, drill template, double-sided trunk tape, stainless hardware, and the necessary installation components.

The included drill template helps establish the required mounting locations during installation.
