The Verus Engineering UCW Rear Wing Kit is a high-performance aerodynamic upgrade designed for the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota GT86. Developed for enthusiasts looking to significantly increase rear-end downforce, the UCW Rear Wing improves high-speed stability, increases driver confidence on track, and can help reduce lap times.
Verus Engineering developed the UCW Rear Wing to bridge the gap between its high-efficiency Swan Neck Rear Wing and the larger 300mm V1X airfoil. Featuring a 250mm curved chord, the UCW generates more downforce than the high-efficiency rear wing while producing significantly more downforce than similarly sized competing wings.
The UCW airfoil was developed using advanced aerodynamic analysis and is derived from the V1X platform. Verus Engineering utilized the ANSYS Adjoint Solver to optimize the airfoil for performance within its available build volume. Additional CFD analysis was performed to ensure the wing receives adequate airflow when installed on the vehicle and maintains strong aerodynamic performance.
During development, Verus Engineering utilized in-house vehicle scan data to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish. The resulting wing integrates cleanly with the vehicle while providing the substantial aerodynamic performance required by track-focused builds.
The UCW Rear Wing is designed for drivers who require a significant increase in rear downforce to balance a substantial front aerodynamic package. With an adjustable 0-15 degree angle of attack, the wing can be tuned to suit different aerodynamic configurations and performance requirements.
The mounting system bolts to the OEM trunk and incorporates sheet-steel trunk mounts with load-transferring hardware to provide a strong and durable installation. The machined billet aluminum uprights and carbon fiber wing element provide a combination of strength, rigidity, and reduced weight.
As part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 4 aerodynamic package, the UCW Rear Wing is designed to work with complementary aerodynamic components to increase downforce, improve cornering performance, and help reduce lap times.
