Description
The Verus Engineering UCW Rear Wing Kit for the Mk5 Toyota Supra is a high-performance rear aerodynamic upgrade designed to significantly increase rear-end downforce, improve driver confidence on track, increase cornering speed, and help reduce lap times. Engineered specifically for the Mk5 Toyota Supra, the UCW Rear Wing is designed to mount directly to the factory OEM trunk while providing the structural capability required to handle substantial aerodynamic loads.
The UCW is designed for track-focused Supra builds that require a significant increase in rear downforce to complement and balance a substantial front aerodynamic package. The wing is capable of generating and withstanding 500+ lbs of downforce, providing the aerodynamic loading necessary for serious track and HPDE applications.
During research and development, Verus Engineering utilized state-of-the-art aerodynamic analysis software to optimize the UCW airfoil for performance within its available build volume. The airfoil design is derived from the V1X platform and was developed to provide an effective combination of aerodynamic efficiency and downforce.
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used to ensure the rear wing receives adequate airflow when installed on the vehicle and performs effectively in its intended operating environment. The design was subsequently validated through real-world experimental testing, with CFD results correlating closely with the physical testing.
Verus Engineering also used in-house vehicle scan data throughout the development process. This allows the UCW Rear Wing to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish while integrating cleanly with the factory Toyota Supra trunk.
The UCW Rear Wing can operate from 0 to 15 degrees of angle of attack, allowing the aerodynamic load generated by the wing to be adjusted according to the vehicle's overall aerodynamic configuration. This range provides the flexibility required to balance a variety of front aerodynamic systems and optimize the Supra's front-to-rear aerodynamic balance.
As part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 3 Aerodynamics Kit, the UCW Rear Wing is designed to work as part of a complete aerodynamic package that adds significant downforce to the Mk5 Supra, helping increase cornering speed and reduce lap times.

Aerodynamic Engineering
The Verus Engineering UCW Rear Wing was specifically developed for Mk5 Toyota Supra enthusiasts who want a substantial increase in rear-end downforce. The airfoil was optimized using the ANSYS Adjoint Solver to maximize aerodynamic performance within the available design envelope.
The wing's 0-15 degree angle-of-attack adjustment provides flexibility for different vehicle configurations. This allows the rear wing to balance a variety of front aerodynamic packages rather than being limited to a single front aero configuration.
CFD analysis was used to evaluate airflow over the vehicle and ensure that the UCW receives adequate airflow when installed on the factory trunk. Verus Engineering then performed real-world experimental testing to validate the computational results.
The CFD data and real-world test data correlated closely, demonstrating that the wing achieved the major aerodynamic performance goals established during development. This correlation also validated the CFD methodology used during the UCW's development.
Ventus 3 Aerodynamics Package
The UCW Rear Wing forms part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 3 Aerodynamics Kit for the Mk5 Toyota Supra. The Ventus 3 package is designed to significantly increase aerodynamic downforce across the vehicle while improving cornering capability and helping reduce lap times.
The UCW is particularly well suited to a Supra equipped with a substantial front aerodynamic system. The adjustable angle of attack allows the rear wing to be configured to help achieve an appropriate aerodynamic balance between the front and rear of the vehicle.
Mounting & Trunk Support
The UCW Rear Wing is designed to mount directly to the OEM factory trunk. The mounting system uses machined billet aluminum trunk mounts and trunk support plates, along with load-transferring trunk stops, to help manage the significant aerodynamic loads generated by the wing.
The included drill template assists with accurately locating the required mounting points during installation. Hard plastic trunk stops are also included as part of the load-transfer system.
Because a large rear wing adds weight and aerodynamic loading to the trunk, upgraded hatch struts may be beneficial if the factory trunk struggles to open or remain open after installation.
Installation
The UCW Rear Wing Kit is designed for a straightforward installation and includes the necessary mounting hardware, drill template, and trunk support components.
Verus Engineering provides installation videos and detailed installation manuals for the majority of its products to assist customers throughout the installation process.
Each UCW Wing is assembled per order and will typically ship within 5 business days from receipt of the order, unless otherwise specified.
Where the UCW Fits in the Verus Engineering Lineup
As Verus Engineering progressed through its Mk5 Toyota Supra development program, the company designed and manufactured three different rear wing configurations, each offering its own advantages for the platform.
There is no single wing that is objectively the best choice for every Mk5 Supra. Each design is intended to meet different aerodynamic requirements and driving applications.
The UCW Rear Wing is designed for enthusiasts who want a significant increase in rear downforce, an efficient high-performance airfoil, OEM trunk mounting, and adjustable aerodynamic loading to complement a substantial front aero package.
