Description

The Verus Engineering Swan Neck V1X Rear Wing Kit is a high-performance aerodynamic upgrade designed specifically for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C8). Developed for enthusiasts seeking a substantial increase in rear-end downforce, the V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing improves high-speed stability, increases driver confidence on track, and helps reduce lap times.

The V1X Swan Neck design utilizes the low-pressure zone beneath the wing element to generate substantial downforce with a minimal drag penalty. By mounting the uprights from above the wing, the design exposes more of the wing's lower surface to clean, undisturbed airflow compared with conventional bottom-mounted wing configurations. The result is improved aerodynamic efficiency and increased downforce potential.

Compared with the Swan Neck UCW Rear Wing, the V1X features a longer chord and wider profile, giving it a significantly greater downforce capacity. At only 2 degrees of angle of attack, the V1X can produce more downforce than the UCW at 12 degrees of angle of attack, while generating less drag. This makes the V1X an ideal choice for drivers looking to extract substantially more aerodynamic performance from their C8 Corvette.

Verus Engineering developed the V1X airfoil using advanced aerodynamic analysis and wind tunnel testing. The airfoil was optimized using the ANSYS Adjoint Solver, while additional CFD analysis was used to ensure the wing receives adequate airflow once installed on the vehicle. In-house vehicle scan data was also used during development to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish.

The wing mounts utilize machined 6061-T6 aluminum components produced on 5-axis CNC machinery. The mounting system spans a large surface area and securely sandwiches the engine cover, providing the structural support necessary for the wing while helping minimize aerodynamic disruption.

The V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing is designed to complement significant front aerodynamic systems, including the Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit, allowing the vehicle to maintain a more balanced aerodynamic setup at high speeds. As part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 3 aerodynamic package, the V1X rear wing is engineered to work with other aerodynamic components to increase downforce, improve cornering performance, and help reduce lap times.

The rear wing features 15 degrees of adjustment, allowing the angle of attack to be fine-tuned according to the vehicle's aerodynamic setup and performance requirements.

V1X wings are assembled per order and will ship within 5 business days from receipt of order unless otherwise specified.

Aerodynamic Engineering

The Verus Engineering V1X Rear Wing was engineered for Corvette Stingray owners who want to push the aerodynamic performance of their C8 further. The wing's 15-degree adjustment range provides the flexibility required to fine-tune rear downforce according to the vehicle's overall aerodynamic configuration.

The Swan Neck mounting system improves the efficiency of the wing by reducing the disruption caused by traditional bottom-mounted uprights. This allows more of the wing's lower surface to interact with the clean, low-pressure airflow beneath the element, producing substantial downforce with improved aerodynamic efficiency.

Verus Engineering validated the design through both CFD simulations and real-world testing. The strong correlation between the computational and physical testing results helped validate the wing's aerodynamic performance and design objectives.

As part of the Ventus 3 aerodynamic package, the V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing can work with complementary front aerodynamic components to create a balanced high-speed setup. Its substantial downforce capability makes it particularly well suited to track-focused C8 Corvette builds where increased rear grip, cornering confidence, and aerodynamic balance are priorities.
