The Verus Engineering Carbon Rear Diffuser for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 is a high-performance aerodynamic upgrade engineered to increase rear-end downforce, improve high-speed stability, reduce aerodynamic drag, and enhance overall vehicle performance.

The eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is already an exceptionally capable performance vehicle, but its aerodynamic package leaves room for further optimization. The rear diffuser is an ideal starting point for aerodynamic development because a properly designed diffuser can generate meaningful downforce while maintaining excellent aerodynamic efficiency.

Verus Engineering developed this diffuser using CFD analysis, CAD data, vehicle scan data, and OpenFOAM Fluent analysis software to create a functional aerodynamic component that follows the Stingray's original design language. The result combines an exotic carbon fiber appearance with measurable aerodynamic performance.

The diffuser works by creating a low-pressure region underneath the vehicle while managing the airflow exiting the rear of the car. This helps increase rear-end aerodynamic load while reducing the wake behind the vehicle, improving aerodynamic efficiency and reducing drag.

The diffuser body is constructed from 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon fiber, autoclave cured, and finished with an automotive clear coat for a premium appearance and enhanced durability.

Installation is designed to be completely bolt-on. The diffuser mounts to existing chassis locations near the rear exhaust hanger using application-specific brackets, requiring no drilling, cutting, or fabrication.

Aerodynamic Function

A properly designed rear diffuser is one of the most efficient ways to add aerodynamic performance to a vehicle.

The Verus Engineering Carbon Rear Diffuser creates a low-pressure region on the underside of the diffuser while managing the airflow as it exits the rear of the Corvette. This helps increase rear-end aerodynamic load and improve vehicle stability at speed.

At the same time, the diffuser works to reduce the wake region behind the vehicle. Reducing the size and effect of this wake decreases the aerodynamic force pulling against the vehicle, helping reduce drag.

The combination of increased downforce and reduced drag results in improved aerodynamic efficiency compared with the OEM Corvette Stingray setup.

CFD and Aerodynamic Development

Verus Engineering utilized vehicle scan data, CAD, CFD, and OpenFOAM Fluent analysis software throughout the development process.
