Description

The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit, WF Spec for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 is a functional aerodynamic upgrade engineered to substantially increase front-end downforce, improve high-speed grip, and provide aerodynamic balance for vehicles equipped with larger rear wings and other performance aero components.

The C8 Corvette is highly capable from the factory, but a properly engineered front splitter can further improve its street-to-track performance. Front splitters generate downforce by creating a pressure differential between their upper and lower surfaces while maintaining a relatively small increase in drag. Verus Engineering developed this splitter using vehicle scan data and CFD analysis to optimize its shape, placement, mounting structure, and aerodynamic interaction with the rest of the vehicle.

The splitter mounts to multiple chassis locations for a strong and durable installation capable of handling the aerodynamic loads generated at high speeds. Hardware mounting locations are recessed to minimize aerodynamic disruption while providing a clean, factory-like appearance.

The splitter blade is manufactured from carbon polyweave, a lightweight and durable carbon thermoplastic material used in high-level motorsports. Unlike brittle carbon fiber or ABS, carbon polyweave is designed to resist cracking, while also avoiding the tendency of aluminum splitters to bend underneath the vehicle when they contact the ground.

The integrated air dam helps bring the splitter level with the vehicle's underbody and further improves its aerodynamic performance. The air dam is available in sheet aluminum or carbon fiber, allowing the customer to choose between a durable functional finish or a carbon fiber appearance that complements other Verus Engineering carbon components.

Front-End Aerodynamic Performance

A properly designed front splitter creates a significant pressure differential between the upper and lower surfaces of the splitter. The resulting pressure distribution generates additional front-end downforce and improves front-end grip at speed.

Verus Engineering used an iterative CFD-driven development process to extract as much aerodynamic performance as possible from the available build volume. The splitter and integrated air dam were developed as a complete system rather than independent components.
