Verus Engineering set out to develop a paddle shifter unlike conventional aftermarket units, focusing on aesthetic design, machining quality, tool path generation, and improved driver feedback. Compared with the smaller factory paddle shifters, the Verus Engineering units provide a broader hand contact area and improved paddle positioning for a more natural interaction while driving.
The development process began with scanning the factory steering wheel and disassembling the original paddle shifter assemblies to create a complete replacement solution. Using this scan data, Verus Engineering designed and refined the paddles through 3D printing and repeated test fitting to ensure proper integration with the factory steering wheel.
Once finalized, the paddle shifters were manufactured in-house using 5-axis CNC mills and carefully selected tool paths. These machining paths enhance both the appearance and tactile feel of the paddles, resulting in a high-quality replacement designed to provide a more substantial and engaging shifting experience while retaining factory-like operation.

Design and Development
Verus Engineering developed these replacement paddle shifters using detailed scan data from the factory Toyota Supra steering wheel and original paddle shifter assemblies. The design was refined through 3D printing, test fitting, and iterative development to ensure the replacement units properly integrate with the factory steering wheel.
The final components are machined in-house from 6061-T6 aluminum using 5-axis CNC milling. Specifically positioned machining tool paths provide the paddles with a distinctive visual appearance while also improving the tactile feedback experienced during operation.
The larger paddle design provides a more substantial hand contact area compared with the factory units, making it easier to locate and operate the paddles while keeping the functionality and operation of the factory system.
