Description

Improve brake cooling and help reduce brake fade on your Mk5 Toyota Supra with the Verus Engineering Brake Cooling Kit. Designed around an OEM-style installation philosophy, this system uses the shortest practical airflow route to efficiently deliver high-pressure air directly to the center of the brake rotor.

The kit combines a factory-style brake inlet, 2x2 twill carbon fiber fender transition ducts, high-temperature silicone brake hose, and purpose-built backing plates with integrated 316L 3D-printed stainless steel ducts. Together, these components capture airflow from the factory inlet and direct it toward the rotor center for improved brake thermal management.

The carbon fender transition duct features a constant cross-sectional area designed to promote and maintain airflow through the brake cooling system. The routing is intentionally kept short to maximize cooling efficiency while maintaining wheel and suspension clearance.

Verus Engineering developed the kit using in-house Mk5 Supra scan data and CFD analysis, resulting in a brake cooling system with a near-OEM fit and finish. The complete kit includes pre-cut hose and the necessary installation hardware, allowing for a straightforward installation with minimal tools and experience.

Brake Cooling Technology

The Verus Engineering Brake Cooling Kit takes advantage of the high-pressure airflow already available through the factory brake inlet. Instead of allowing that air to pass around the brake assembly, the system captures the airflow and directs it through dedicated ducting toward the center of the rotor.

The backing plate and integrated stainless steel duct are specifically shaped to further improve airflow delivery to the rotor center. Supplying cooler, higher-pressure air to this area increases the cooling capacity of both factory and aftermarket brake systems.

Carbon Fender Transition Duct

The carbon fiber fender transition duct provides a smooth transition from the brake inlet to the high-temperature silicone brake hose. Its constant cross-sectional area helps promote consistent airflow through the system.

The carbon fiber construction also allows Verus Engineering to create a compact, well-formed duct that maintains clearance around the wheel while efficiently routing air toward the brakes.

Rotor Center Cooling

Directing cooling air toward the center of the brake rotor is a key part of the system's design. Air entering the rotor center can travel through the rotor's internal ventilation passages, helping remove heat as the rotor rotates.

By utilizing the factory high-pressure inlet and purpose-built backing plate ducting, the Verus Engineering system increases the amount of airflow available for brake cooling.

OEM-Style Installation

The kit was designed around an OEM-type installation approach, keeping the airflow path short and the overall system cleanly integrated into the Mk5 Supra.

Verus Engineering used in-house scan data and CFD analysis during development to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish. The kit includes pre-cut silicone hose, clamps, zip ties, and the necessary hardware for installation.

The system can be installed in a few hours using minimal hand tools and basic mechanical knowledge.

Why Brake Cooling Matters

Repeated hard braking generates substantial heat in the brake rotors, pads, and surrounding components. Excessive brake temperatures can contribute to brake fade and reduced braking consistency during track driving.

The Verus Engineering Brake Cooling Kit is designed to improve the thermal characteristics of the Mk5 Supra's braking system by delivering additional airflow directly to the rotor center. This makes it particularly useful for owners who drive their Supra aggressively on the track or want improved brake thermal management.
