The Verus Engineering Carbon Cooling Fender Vent Kit is engineered specifically for the Mk5 Toyota Supra to improve underhood cooling, reduce pressure buildup inside the front fender wells, and enhance front-end aerodynamic performance.

The factory fender wells can trap high-pressure air, contributing to front-end lift and reducing cooling efficiency. The Verus Engineering Carbon Cooling Fender Vents help evacuate this trapped air, allowing the cooling system to operate more effectively while improving the aerodynamic efficiency of the front end. The vents also help the front splitter work more effectively on the suction side, contributing to increased front-end downforce.

Developed using in-house scan data, the four-piece system was carefully designed to follow the contours of the Mk5 Supra's hood and provide an OEM-plus fit and finish. The upper and lower assemblies work together to create a clean, integrated appearance whether the hood is open or closed.

A key advantage of the Verus Engineering design is its ability to close the gap between the fender liner and the top of the fender. This helps prevent rocks, debris, and other contaminants from entering the engine bay through the vent openings, addressing an issue commonly found with other fender vent designs.

The vents are constructed from 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon fiber, autoclave cured and finished with an automotive high-gloss clear coat. Installation is straightforward using the included 3M VHB double-sided tape and precision cutting templates.

The Carbon Cooling Fender Vent Kit can be installed as a standalone upgrade or used as part of the Verus Engineering Ventus-5 aerodynamic package.

Science & Aerodynamic Performance

The Verus Engineering Carbon Cooling Fender Vents were developed to address the high-pressure air trapped inside the Mk5 Toyota Supra's front fender wells.

As air enters the front of the vehicle, pressure can build inside the fender wells. This pressure contributes to front-end lift while restricting the efficiency of the vehicle's cooling system. By providing an effective path for this air to escape, the Carbon Cooling Fender Vents help reduce pressure within the fender wells and improve airflow through the cooling system.

The reduced pressure also improves front-end aerodynamic efficiency and allows the front splitter to operate more effectively on its suction side. This contributes to additional front-end downforce and improved cornering performance.

Verus Engineering developed and tested the vents using CFD analysis and real-world on-track data. The strong correlation between the CFD results and physical testing helped validate the aerodynamic performance of the design.

As part of the Ventus-5 aerodynamic package, the Carbon Cooling Fender Vents serve as a key component in a larger aerodynamic system designed to increase cornering speeds and reduce lap times.
