Description
The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit for the Subaru WRX and STI (GR/GV) is designed to reduce front-end lift, increase front-end downforce, improve high-speed traction, and enhance overall aerodynamic efficiency.
Engineered to work with the Verus Engineering rear diffuser and rear wing, this front splitter is an important component of a balanced aerodynamic package. With the optional air dam or when used in conjunction with the factory STI lip, the splitter provides a well-rounded aerodynamic solution for both track-day enthusiasts and performance-oriented street vehicles.
During the research and development process, Verus Engineering utilized advanced aerodynamic analysis software to estimate the splitter's performance on the vehicle. The splitter and diffuser were developed to work together as a cohesive aerodynamic system.
In-house vehicle scan data was also used during development, allowing Verus Engineering to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish.
The front splitter is designed for owners looking to combat front-end lift and increase available traction at high speeds.

How the Front Splitter Works
A front splitter generates downforce by creating a pressure difference between its upper and lower surfaces.
As airflow passes beneath the splitter, it helps create a low-pressure zone underneath the front of the vehicle, while higher-pressure air remains above the splitter. This pressure differential pushes the front of the vehicle downward, increasing front-end downforce.
The additional aerodynamic load helps reduce front-end lift and provides increased tire loading at higher speeds, improving front-end traction and driver confidence.
Aerodynamic Science
The Verus Engineering Front Splitter forms part of the Ventus 2 aerodynamic package for the Subaru GV WRX.
The Ventus 2 package is designed to significantly decrease aerodynamic lift on the GV Subaru WRX, allowing the vehicle to produce downforce at speed. By improving the aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle, the package is designed to help produce significant reductions in lap times.
The front splitter was developed alongside the aerodynamic components of the package to create a balanced overall setup. The splitter works with the rear diffuser and rear wing to improve aerodynamic performance rather than functioning as an isolated component.
Ventus 2 Aerodynamic Package
The Verus Engineering Ventus 2 package is designed to help the Subaru WRX make better use of its available tire grip during track driving.
The front splitter contributes to the package by reducing front-end lift and increasing downforce, while the rear aerodynamic components help maintain an effective front-to-rear aerodynamic balance.
This makes the splitter suitable for both daily-driven WRX/STI vehicles and dedicated track cars, providing functional aerodynamic performance without requiring an overly complicated installation.
Street & Track Performance
The Front Splitter Kit is designed for enthusiasts who want measurable aerodynamic improvements while maintaining practical vehicle usability.
By reducing front-end lift and increasing downforce at speed, the splitter helps improve the vehicle's aerodynamic stability and front-end traction. This can be particularly beneficial during high-speed cornering and track driving.
When integrated with the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 components, the splitter contributes to a complete aerodynamic package designed to improve overall vehicle performance.
Installation
The Verus Engineering Front Splitter uses a straightforward bolt-on installation with the included center and outer mounting brackets and hardware.
The splitter can be configured with the optional air dam or used in conjunction with the STI lip, depending on the desired setup.
Verus Engineering provides detailed installation manuals and installation videos for the majority of its products to assist with installation.
