Description
The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit for the Porsche 987.2 Cayman is engineered to significantly increase front-end downforce while minimizing additional aerodynamic drag. The splitter generates downforce by creating a substantial pressure differential between its upper and lower surfaces.
Verus Engineering further optimized the splitter through an iterative design process, incorporating aerodynamic improvements to the underside to improve airflow while working with the OEM plastic underbody panels.
The front splitter is manufactured from carbon thermoplastic, a high-performance material widely used in motorsports. Unlike conventional carbon fiber and ABS splitters, carbon thermoplastic offers a combination of strength, low weight, durability, and impact resistance. It is designed to resist cracking and breaking while also avoiding the tendency of aluminum splitters to catch and bend when contacting surfaces underneath the vehicle.
A dedicated carbon fiber air dam is included to bring the splitter flush with the vehicle's underbody, further improving aerodynamic performance. The air dam is manufactured from pre-preg carbon fiber and autoclave cured for increased strength and reduced weight.
The result is a high-downforce front aerodynamic solution designed for the 987.2 Porsche Cayman, particularly when paired with larger rear aerodynamic components.
Shipping Note: Due to the size of the package, this product ships via freight on a pallet.

Carbon Thermoplastic Construction
The Verus Engineering front splitter uses carbon thermoplastic rather than traditional carbon fiber or ABS.
Carbon thermoplastic provides a strong and lightweight construction while offering improved durability for a component that can encounter road debris, curbing, and other track-related hazards.
The material is designed to resist cracking and breaking like traditional carbon fiber and ABS while also avoiding the tendency of aluminum splitters to grab surfaces and bend underneath the vehicle.
This makes carbon thermoplastic particularly well suited to a high-performance front splitter where strength, stiffness, durability, and weight are all important considerations.
Aerodynamic Science
A properly designed front splitter can significantly increase front-end grip by creating a large pressure differential between the upper and lower surfaces of the splitter.
Verus Engineering used state-of-the-art aerodynamic analysis software and an iterative design process to optimize the splitter and air dam combination. The underside of the splitter incorporates aerodynamic design changes intended to improve airflow while maintaining compatibility with the OEM plastic underbody panels.
The splitter and air dam were also properly sized in conjunction with the front dive planes to help counteract the aerodynamic load generated by the rear wing and diffuser. This allows the complete aerodynamic package to maintain a safer and more effective aerodynamic balance.
Ventus 2 Aerodynamic Package
The Verus Engineering Front Splitter forms part of the Ventus 2 aerodynamic package for the Porsche 987 Cayman.
The Ventus 2 package is designed to significantly increase downforce compared with the factory vehicle while maintaining a balanced aerodynamic setup.
The package was developed for the typical track and HPDE enthusiast looking to dramatically improve the aerodynamic performance of the Porsche 987 Cayman while maintaining a safe and predictable balance between front and rear aerodynamic load.
When combined with the appropriate Verus Engineering rear wing, rear diffuser, and dive planes, the front splitter provides the additional front-end downforce required to balance the overall aerodynamic package.
Installation
The front splitter is designed as a non-invasive installation and works with the OEM plastic underbody panels.
The included carbon fiber air dam incorporates aircraft nut plates, while stainless steel hardware is supplied for installation.
Shipping Note: The size of the splitter package requires shipment via freight on a pallet.
