Description
The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit for the Porsche 718 GT4 is designed to significantly increase front-end downforce while minimizing additional drag. A properly designed front splitter creates a substantial pressure differential between its upper and lower surfaces, generating additional aerodynamic load and improving front-end grip.
Verus Engineering properly sized the splitter in relation to the rear wing and overall aerodynamic package to achieve a balanced front-to-rear aero setup. This balanced approach helps improve high-speed stability, cornering performance, and lap times.
The splitter is manufactured from carbon thermoplastic, a high-performance material used extensively in motorsports. Unlike brittle carbon fiber and ABS, carbon thermoplastic is designed to withstand impacts and abrasion while maintaining its structural integrity and performance. It also avoids the tendency of aluminum splitters to grab the ground and bend underneath the vehicle.
Carbon thermoplastic provides an excellent combination of strength, low weight, durability, abrasion resistance, and appearance. The material is used in various forms of racing, including IndyCar, NASCAR, and Formula 1.

Aerodynamic Science
When properly designed, a front splitter can substantially increase front-end grip by creating a large pressure differential between its upper and lower surfaces. The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit was developed specifically to maximize this aerodynamic effect on the Porsche 718 GT4.
Using state-of-the-art aerodynamic analysis software and an iterative design process, Verus Engineering optimized the interaction between the front splitter, air dam, and diffuser to extract additional performance from the complete aerodynamic system.
The splitter, air dam, and diffuser were developed as a coordinated system, allowing Verus Engineering to properly size the front aerodynamic components in relation to the rear wing and diffuser. The dive planes were also properly sized to help counteract the rear aerodynamic load and create a safe, effective aerodynamic balance.
The front splitter is part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 Kit for the Porsche 718 GT4. The Ventus 2 package is designed to significantly increase downforce compared with the factory vehicle while maintaining a safe and balanced aerodynamic setup for the typical track and HPDE enthusiast.
Verus Engineering also prioritized street usability during development. The aerodynamic components were designed with reasonable front splitter protrusion and rear wing widths to provide significant performance improvements without sacrificing the street-driveability of the Porsche 718 GT4.
