Description

Increase front-end aerodynamic performance on your Porsche 991.1 GT3 RS with the Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit. Designed to generate substantial front downforce without significantly increasing drag, this complete splitter system improves front-end grip and helps create a balanced aerodynamic setup for demanding track, HPDE, and performance street applications.

A properly designed front splitter generates downforce by creating a significant pressure differential between the upper and lower surfaces. Verus Engineering further optimized this splitter through incremental changes to the underside, improving airflow interaction with the integrated carbon splitter diffusers.

The result is a purpose-built front splitter system for the Porsche 991.1 GT3 RS that produces a large increase in front-end downforce while complementing large rear-wing configurations.

The splitter is manufactured from carbon thermoplastic, a durable material used in high-level motorsports. Unlike brittle carbon fiber and ABS components, carbon thermoplastic is designed to withstand abrasion and impacts without cracking or breaking easily. It also avoids the tendency of aluminum splitters to grab the ground and bend underneath the vehicle.

The mounting bracketry was developed using vehicle scan data and is precision cut and bent for accurate, repeatable fitment. The carbon splitter diffusers were developed through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to promote airflow and improve downforce generation.

The splitter was designed to balance large rear wings, specifically the Verus Engineering V1X Rear Wing for the 991.1 GT3 RS, helping create a more effective front-to-rear aerodynamic balance.

Why Carbon Thermoplastic?

The Verus Engineering carbon thermoplastic splitter material combines strength, low weight, durability, and appearance, making it particularly well suited for a high-performance front splitter.

Unlike traditional carbon fiber and ABS splitter materials, carbon thermoplastic is not as brittle and is designed to better withstand abrasion and contact without cracking or breaking. Compared with aluminum splitter designs, it is less likely to grab the ground and bend underneath the vehicle.

This makes the material well suited for track environments where the splitter may encounter curbing, uneven surfaces, or occasional ground contact.

Aerodynamic Science

When properly designed, a front splitter can significantly increase front-end aerodynamic grip by creating a pressure differential between its upper and lower surfaces.

Verus Engineering used state-of-the-art aerodynamic analysis software and an iterative development process to extract additional performance from the complete front splitter, air dam, and diffuser combination. Changes to the underside of the splitter were made to improve airflow interaction with the carbon splitter diffusers and increase downforce generation.

The front splitter and associated aerodynamic components were also properly sized to counterbalance the additional rear load produced by a large rear wing and the factory rear diffuser. This helps create a more predictable and effective front-to-rear aerodynamic balance.

The result is a front aerodynamic system designed to provide substantial additional front-end downforce while maintaining an appropriate balance with the rest of the vehicle's aerodynamic package.

Ventus 2 & Ventus 3 Aerodynamic Package

The Front Splitter Kit is part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 and Ventus 3 aerodynamic packages for the Porsche 991.1 GT3 RS.

The Ventus aerodynamic packages are designed to significantly increase downforce compared with the factory vehicle while maintaining a balanced setup for the typical track and HPDE enthusiast.

The development goal was to dramatically improve the aerodynamic performance of the factory Porsche 991.1 GT3 RS while maintaining predictable and balanced handling characteristics.

Street usability was also considered during development. The aerodynamic components were designed with reasonable front splitter stick-out and rear wing widths, helping retain practical street drivability while delivering significant improvements in aerodynamic performance.

Installation

The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit includes the complete bracket, support, diffuser, and hardware system required for installation.

The mounting bracketry was developed from vehicle scan data and precision CNC cut and bent for repeatable fitment. The included cross beam, clevises, support rods, and stainless hardware provide the structural support required for the splitter's 300+ lb load capability.

Verus Engineering provides detailed installation manuals and installation videos for the majority of its products to help guide the installation process.
