Description

The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit for the Porsche 991.1 GT3 is designed to significantly increase front-end downforce and improve aerodynamic balance without introducing a substantial increase in drag. By creating a large pressure differential between the upper and lower surfaces of the splitter, the system generates additional front-end aerodynamic load and increases front-end grip.

Verus Engineering properly sized this front splitter around the aerodynamic characteristics of the Porsche 991.1 GT3 and its corresponding UCW rear wing blade upgrade. This approach helps maintain a safe and effective front-to-rear aero balance while improving overall aerodynamic performance and supporting reduced lap times.

The splitter is manufactured from carbon thermoplastic, a high-performance material used in top levels of motorsport. Unlike brittle carbon fiber and ABS, carbon thermoplastic is designed to withstand impacts and abrasion without cracking easily. It also avoids the tendency of aluminum splitters to grab the ground and bend underneath the vehicle.

The result is a lightweight, stiff, durable, and abrasion-resistant front splitter engineered for serious track and HPDE use while maintaining practical streetability.

Why Carbon Thermoplastic?

The Verus Engineering front splitter uses carbon thermoplastic because it provides an excellent combination of strength, low weight, stiffness, durability, and abrasion resistance.

Unlike aluminum splitter designs, the material is less likely to grab the ground and bend underneath the vehicle. Compared with traditional carbon fiber and ABS components, carbon thermoplastic offers improved resistance to cracking and breakage when subjected to the abuse associated with track driving.

This makes it particularly well suited for a high-performance front splitter that needs to withstand repeated contact with debris, curbs, and other track-related hazards while maintaining its aerodynamic performance and appearance.

Aerodynamic Science

A properly designed front splitter can significantly increase front-end grip by generating additional aerodynamic downforce. For the Porsche 991.1 GT3, Verus Engineering used state-of-the-art aerodynamic analysis software to properly size the front splitter around the UCW rear wing blade upgrade developed for the vehicle.

This aerodynamic development process allows the splitter and rear wing to work together as a balanced system rather than as isolated components. The result is a safer and more effective aerodynamic balance designed to improve performance and help reduce lap times both on and off the track.

The front splitter is part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 3 Package for the Porsche 991 GT3, an aerodynamic package designed to significantly increase downforce over the factory vehicle.

The Ventus 3 aerodynamic package was developed with the typical track and HPDE enthusiast in mind. The goal was to dramatically improve the aerodynamic performance of the factory 991 GT3 while maintaining a safe and balanced setup. Verus Engineering also considered street usability by keeping the front splitter stick-out and rear wing widths within reasonable limits.

Installation

The Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit is designed for a non-invasive and straightforward installation. Verus Engineering provides detailed installation manuals and installation videos for the majority of its products to assist with the installation process.
