Description
The Verus Engineering V1X Rear Wing Kit for the Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 RS and GT2 RS is a high-downforce aerodynamic upgrade engineered to dramatically improve rear-end grip, high-speed stability, and track performance. Featuring a large 300mm chord swan neck wing, the V1X is designed to generate substantial rear downforce while maintaining high aerodynamic efficiency.
Developed as part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 Aerodynamics Package, the V1X rear wing works with the front aerodynamic system to create a balanced increase in downforce compared with the factory vehicle. The additional rear aerodynamic load can improve cornering performance, increase driver confidence at speed, and help reduce lap times on track.
The wing's airfoil was developed through an iterative aerodynamic design process using ANSYS Adjoint Solver, CFD analysis, wind-tunnel testing, and real-world testing. This development process allowed Verus Engineering to optimize the airfoil for aerodynamic efficiency while maintaining the substantial downforce required for demanding track applications.
The V1X is capable of generating and handling 700+ lbs of downforce at 120 MPH, making it a serious aerodynamic upgrade for track-focused Porsche builds. The wing features 15 total adjustment angles from -1 to 14 degrees, allowing the rear downforce level to be adjusted to suit different driving conditions and aerodynamic configurations.
The swan neck mounting design positions the wing supports above the wing element, improving airflow efficiency around the wing and allowing the airfoil to operate more effectively. The mounting system is engineered around OEM vehicle scan data and bolts to the chassis using factory-style mounting locations without requiring permanent modifications to the vehicle.
The swan neck uprights and mounting components are CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and were subjected to FEA analysis to maintain high structural strength while minimizing unnecessary weight. A dedicated chassis brace transfers aerodynamic loads into the vehicle's chassis, providing a robust mounting solution for the high downforce generated by the wing.
The rear wing itself is constructed from 2x2 twill, 3K pre-preg carbon fiber, cured in an autoclave and reinforced with an internal carbon rib for increased strength. The complete wing element weighs under 9 lbs, providing a lightweight solution for adding substantial rear aerodynamic load.
Racer Special / Blemished Product
This Racer Special version is offered at a reduced price because the product has cosmetic imperfections or finishing characteristics that fall outside Verus Engineering's normal cosmetic standards. Each blemished item is unique, so the exact appearance and type of cosmetic imperfection can vary from unit to unit.
Racer Special blemished products remain structurally sound and fully functional. The blemishes are cosmetic and do not prevent the product from performing its intended function.
All Racer Special products are final sale and are not covered by Verus Engineering's warranty. Customers purchasing this version should expect cosmetic imperfections in exchange for the reduced price.

Aerodynamic Engineering
The Verus Engineering 300mm Rear Wing Kit was developed for Porsche enthusiasts seeking a substantial increase in rear-end downforce for track use. The airfoil profile was optimized using the ANSYS Adjoint Solver through an iterative development process focused on improving aerodynamic efficiency and overall wing performance.
The V1X was specifically positioned and developed to provide an effective aerodynamic balance with the rest of the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 Aerodynamics Package. The Ventus 2 system is engineered to significantly increase the vehicle's total aerodynamic downforce compared with the factory configuration, with the goal of improving track performance and reducing lap times.
Verus Engineering used CFD simulations during development and subsequently compared the results against real-world experimental data. The close correlation between the CFD and physical testing validated the aerodynamic analysis methodology and confirmed that the wing achieved the primary performance targets established during development.
Swan Neck Design
The V1X uses a swan neck mounting configuration that supports the wing from above rather than using traditional bottom-mounted uprights. This configuration is designed to reduce aerodynamic interference around the wing element and improve the efficiency of the airfoil.
The result is a high-downforce rear wing designed to generate substantial aerodynamic load while maintaining strong lift-to-drag performance.
Lightweight Carbon Fiber Construction
The V1X rear wing is constructed from 2x2 twill, 3K pre-preg carbon fiber and cured in an autoclave for consistent structural performance. An internal carbon reinforcement rib adds strength to the wing element, while the carbon fiber endplates complete the aerodynamic assembly.
Despite its substantial downforce capability, the wing element itself weighs under 9 lbs, helping maintain a lightweight aerodynamic package.
Mounting & Structural Support
The mounting system uses CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum uprights and chassis mounting brackets. These components were FEA analyzed to maintain high strength while minimizing weight.
A dedicated chassis brace is included to transfer aerodynamic loads into the chassis. Machined Delrin chassis stops provide additional load management at the mounting points.
The entire system was developed from OEM vehicle scan data and is designed to bolt onto the vehicle using OEM-style mounting principles without requiring permanent modifications to the rear hatch or chassis.
Installation
The V1X is designed as an OEM-style bolt-on aerodynamic upgrade. The kit includes all necessary installation hardware, chassis mounting components, chassis stops, and the required components for installation.
The Gurney flap is also included along with 3M VHB double-sided tape for installation.
