The Verus Engineering Carbon Rear Ducktail Spoiler for the 2013–2021 Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota GT86 was developed from a clean-sheet design approach to combine functional rear-end aerodynamics with a sleek, integrated appearance.
Using advanced NX CAD capabilities, Verus Engineering designed the spoiler with G3 surface continuity to create a smooth transition with the vehicle's bodywork. The design was developed using detailed vehicle scan data and tested with OpenFOAM computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to ensure the spoiler provides measurable aerodynamic benefits.
The ducktail spoiler increases the high-pressure region over the trunk, generating additional rear-end downforce at speed.
