Description
The Verus Engineering Carbon Ducktail Rear Spoiler is designed specifically for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C8) to enhance the vehicle's appearance while improving aerodynamic efficiency. Developed as a functional component of a larger aerodynamic package, the ducktail spoiler controls airflow around the rear of the vehicle rather than relying on the spoiler itself to directly generate downforce.
The spoiler was engineered to cover the mounting holes left behind when removing the factory rear spoiler, providing a clean and refined appearance. When paired with a larger performance rear wing, such as the Verus Engineering V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing, the ducktail spoiler helps improve overall vehicle downforce. Verus Engineering testing showed an increase of over 10% in total vehicle downforce when the spoiler was used with the V1X rear wing, providing a significant performance benefit with minimal drag penalty.
Using in-house scan data during development, Verus Engineering achieved a near-OEM fit and finish while designing the spoiler to work with the factory rear bumper. Installation is straightforward using the included 3M VHB tape, eliminating the need for drilling or complicated modifications.
Whether you're looking to improve the appearance of your Corvette Stingray or begin building a functional aerodynamic package, the Carbon Ducktail Rear Spoiler provides an effective foundation for future rear aero upgrades.

Science & Aerodynamic Performance
The Verus Engineering Carbon Ducktail Rear Spoiler was developed to control airflow around the rear of the Corvette Stingray rather than simply generating downforce directly from the spoiler surface.
By managing airflow over the trunk, the spoiler helps reduce the low-pressure region behind the rear of the vehicle. This improves the aerodynamic environment for larger rear wings and helps increase the overall downforce generated by the complete rear aerodynamic system.
When paired with the Verus Engineering V1X Swan Neck Rear Wing, testing showed that removing the ducktail spoiler resulted in approximately a 10% reduction in total downforce. This demonstrates the spoiler's importance as part of the complete aerodynamic package.
On its own, the ducktail spoiler does not provide additional aerodynamic performance compared with the OEM Z51 wing. Its primary aerodynamic benefit comes when it is paired with one of Verus Engineering's larger rear wing systems, where it helps improve the overall efficiency and performance of the rear aero package.
