Description
The Verus Engineering Backing Plate Kit provides a strong foundation for building an effective brake cooling system on the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota GT86. Each backing plate combines a durable stainless steel backing plate with a properly formed and positioned dry carbon air duct designed to direct cool air directly into the center of the brake rotor.
By connecting a 2.5-inch silicone brake duct hose to the backing plates and routing cool air through the rotors, the system can help increase braking endurance, extend component life, improve resistance to brake fade, and reduce the risk of brake fluid boiling during demanding driving.
The backing plates are designed to work with both OEM and aftermarket big brake kits, making them an excellent upgrade for drivers looking to maximize brake performance on the street or track.

Clearance Note: In certain severe applications, the backing plate may require trimming. For example, the AP Sprint Kit with Whiteline Roll Center Adjusters can have less clearance between the lower control arm and rotor than the thickness of the backing plate. The AP Sprint BBK fits without trimming when used with factory ball joints.

Before installation, verify clearance between the backing plate, rotor, and suspension components, particularly when using aftermarket brake kits or suspension components that alter factory geometry.
