Description

Eliminate the unpleasant wind buffeting and cabin pressure waves that occur when driving your Porsche 992 with the windows down. The Verus Engineering Anti-Buffeting Wind Deflectors are designed to reduce the low-frequency “subwoofer-like” booming commonly experienced at speed while maintaining the clean, aggressive appearance of your Porsche.

These carbon fiber wind deflectors are an excellent upgrade for both street driving and track use, especially for enthusiasts who enjoy driving with the windows down.

Verus Engineering developed these deflectors to provide an effective aerodynamic solution without compromising exterior styling. Each unit attaches easily to the vehicle using 3M VHB double-sided tape, allowing for a simple installation without complicated modifications.

The wind deflectors are manufactured from multiple pieces of pre-preg carbon fiber that are bonded together and then finished with an automotive high-gloss clear coat. This construction provides a premium appearance while maintaining the precise fit required around the Porsche's side mirror bases.

During development, Verus Engineering utilized in-house vehicle scan data from a Porsche 992 shop car to ensure accurate contouring and OEM-style fitment around the side mirror bases. CFD analysis was also used to confirm that the deflectors effectively address wind buffeting without introducing unnecessary aerodynamic drag or negatively affecting other aerodynamic components downstream.

Upgrade the exterior appearance of your Porsche while significantly reducing the annoying wind buffeting associated with driving with the windows down.

Important Compatibility Note: These Anti-Buffeting Wind Deflectors are not compatible with the Porsche 992 GT3 RS.

Aerodynamic Science

Wind buffeting occurs when airflow traveling around the Porsche 992's A-pillar repeatedly attaches and detaches as it moves around the open side windows. This unstable airflow generates pressure waves inside the cabin, creating the loud, low-frequency booming sensation commonly experienced when driving with the windows down.

The Verus Engineering Anti-Buffeting Wind Deflectors are designed to control this airflow by encouraging the air to detach in a more controlled manner as it travels around the open windows. This helps prevent the airflow behavior responsible for the unwanted cabin pressure waves and significantly reduces wind buffeting.

Verus Engineering also used CFD analysis during development to ensure the deflectors solve the buffeting problem without creating excessive aerodynamic interaction that could negatively affect other components further downstream.

The result is a simple aerodynamic upgrade that improves open-window driving comfort while complementing the exterior styling of the Porsche 992.
