Description
The Verus Engineering Carbon Anti-Buffeting Wind Deflectors are designed to eliminate the annoying wind buffeting commonly experienced when driving a Toyota GR86 or Subaru BRZ with the windows down at high speeds.
As track speeds increase beyond approximately 90 MPH, opening the windows can create a loud, repetitive buffeting effect that becomes particularly noticeable during track days. Since many track-day organizations require drivers to operate with the windows down, Verus Engineering developed these wind deflectors as a functional solution to reduce this issue while also adding a high-end carbon fiber exterior upgrade.
The wind deflectors attach easily using 3M VHB double-sided tape and are constructed from multiple pieces of pre-preg carbon fiber that are bonded together and finished with a high-gloss automotive clear coat.
The result is a clean, performance-focused solution that helps reduce wind buffeting while complementing the exterior styling of the GR86, BRZ, and compatible vehicles.
Note: A slight increase in wind noise with the windows closed may be noticeable after installation.

What Causes Wind Buffeting?
Wind buffeting occurs when driving with the vehicle's windows down at higher speeds. Airflow around the vehicle can interact with the open window area and create rapidly fluctuating pressure inside the cabin.
This produces the characteristic low-frequency buffeting or booming sound that can become especially noticeable during high-speed track driving.

Aerodynamic Development
Verus Engineering used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis during development to ensure the wind deflectors perform their intended function without creating unwanted aerodynamic interactions with the rest of the vehicle.

Carbon Fiber Construction
The wind deflectors are manufactured from 2x2 twill 3K pre-preg carbon fiber.
The components use a two-piece construction that is bonded together before receiving a high-gloss automotive clear coat. The carbon fiber construction provides a lightweight, high-quality appearance that complements other performance-oriented exterior modifications.
The autoclave-cured manufacturing process provides a consistent and refined finished product suitable for both street and track applications.
