The Verus Engineering Swan Neck UCW Rear Wing Kit for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible (C8) is a track-focused aerodynamic upgrade designed to significantly increase rear downforce, improve high-speed confidence, and help reduce lap times.
Designed to mount directly to the factory trunk, the UCW Swan Neck Rear Wing provides a substantial increase in rear aerodynamic load while maintaining an efficient lift-to-drag relationship. Its top-mounted swan neck design minimizes disruption to the lower surface of the wing, allowing more of the wing's underside to utilize the low-pressure region that generates downforce.
Verus Engineering developed the wing using advanced aerodynamic analysis, CFD, and wind tunnel testing. The airfoil is derived from the Verus Engineering V1X development program and was refined to maximize performance within the available packaging constraints.
In-house vehicle scan data was also used to achieve a near-OEM fit and finish. The swan neck uprights mount in an area already affected by airflow from the vehicle, helping minimize the aerodynamic drawbacks normally associated with adding external components.

Aerodynamic Science
The Verus Engineering UCW Swan Neck Rear Wing generates downforce by utilizing the pressure differential across the wing element. The lower surface creates a low-pressure region that effectively pulls the vehicle downward, increasing rear aerodynamic load.
The swan neck mounting configuration reduces interference with the underside of the wing compared with conventional bottom-mounted designs. This allows more of the wing's lower surface to remain aerodynamically effective.
Verus Engineering's CFD analysis and wind tunnel development were used to optimize the airfoil and ensure the wing receives adequate airflow when installed on the C8 Corvette.
The result is improved aerodynamic efficiency compared with the bottom-mount UCW design, while maintaining the substantial rear downforce required for track applications. Verus Engineering's current aerodynamic documentation notes that the swan neck UCW provides a slight performance improvement in total downforce and lift-to-drag efficiency over the bottom-mount UCW.
Aerodynamic Balance
Rear downforce must be balanced with the aerodynamic load generated at the front of the vehicle. Excessive rear aerodynamic load without sufficient front-end support can alter the vehicle's aerodynamic balance and handling characteristics.

The wing's 15-degree adjustment range allows the aerodynamic load to be fine-tuned according to the vehicle's setup and performance requirements.
Ventus 2 Aerodynamic Package
The Swan Neck UCW Rear Wing forms part of the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 aerodynamic package – Swan Neck Variant for the C8 Corvette.
The Ventus 2 system is designed to increase aerodynamic performance through coordinated front and rear components. The rear wing provides substantial rear downforce while allowing the overall aerodynamic package to be balanced with an appropriate front splitter.
Carbon Fiber Construction
The rear wing is manufactured from 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon fiber, which is autoclave cured and finished with an automotive high-gloss clear coat.
The mounting system uses machined 6061-T6 aluminum components, produced using 5-axis CNC machining for precise fitment and a high-quality finish.
