Description
The Verus Engineering Hood Louver Kit for the 2015–2017 Ford Mustang S550 is designed to reduce engine-bay heat and pressure while improving both cooling and aerodynamic performance. By improving airflow out of the engine bay, the louvers help increase airflow through the radiator and charge air cooler, improving overall cooling stack efficiency.
Reducing pressure buildup beneath the hood also helps decrease front-end lift, providing a slight increase in front-end downforce for improved high-speed aerodynamic performance.
During development, Verus Engineering utilized 3D scan data and CFD analysis to strategically position the louvers in low-pressure areas of the hood. The design follows the OEM hood contours while retaining most of the factory underhood structural material, helping preserve hood rigidity and providing an integrated appearance.
Purpose-built, tested, and optimized for the S550 Mustang, this GT Hood Spec louver kit provides an effective cooling and aerodynamic upgrade while weighing less than most carbon vented hoods.

Aerodynamic Science
Verus Engineering utilized CFD analysis and scan data to identify effective low-pressure areas on the S550 Mustang hood for louver placement. The louvers are shaped to follow the OEM hood contours while minimizing the amount of structural material removed.
Improving airflow out of the engine bay helps evacuate hot air and improves airflow through the radiator and charge air cooler. This increases cooling stack efficiency and can help manage engine-bay temperatures during demanding driving.
The louvers also reduce pressure buildup beneath the hood. Lower underhood pressure helps reduce front-end lift, providing a slight increase in front-end downforce and improving the Mustang's aerodynamic balance.
Installation
The kit includes two dedicated cut-out templates and all necessary installation hardware. Stainless flush clinch studs and serrated nuts allow the louvers to be removed for cleaning or servicing.
