Description
The CANchecked R5X MINI Cooper MFD15 Multi Function Display – 1.5" Gen2 is a compact digital display designed for monitoring engine and vehicle data in compatible MINI Cooper R-Series applications.
The MFD15 Gen2 combines CAN Bus communication, OBD2 data access, Wi-Fi connectivity, configurable display layouts, and expandable sensor inputs in a compact 1.5-inch OLED display. The OLED screen is designed to provide clear readability, including in direct sunlight.
This kit is supplied with a vehicle-specific bezel and connection cable, allowing the display to be integrated into the dashboard without requiring vehicle modification.
The front-mounted LED can function as a shift light and/or warning indicator, while the configurable display allows users to create personalized layouts with different gauges, colors, graphics, and vehicle data.

Display & Customization
The MFD15 Gen2 allows MINI owners to configure the display according to their preferred vehicle data and visual layout.
Through the CANchecked Web App, the display can be configured using a smartphone or PC. Users can create personalized pages, select different display parameters, customize colors, and add their own startup logo.
The front LED can also be configured for shift-light or warning functions, while preset alarms can provide prominent warnings when monitored parameters exceed user-defined thresholds.
Sensor & Data Integration
The MFD15 Gen2 supports direct communication with compatible CAN Bus ECUs and OBD2 systems. It can also accept up to six analog sensor inputs, allowing additional vehicle parameters to be monitored beyond the information available through the vehicle's standard communication systems.
Supported configurations can also provide ethanol content and temperature monitoring, online data logging, CAN switching, and forwarding of analog sensor readings onto the CAN bus.
Available data and functions vary depending on the MINI model, model year, installed control units, software version, and supported communication protocols.
Vehicle Compatibility & Data Availability
CANchecked displays communicate directly with supported vehicles through the CAN Bus. CAN Bus became widely available in production vehicles from approximately 2008 onward, but the amount of accessible data varies between manufacturers and vehicle configurations.
For the compatible MINI R-Series applications, available parameters and functions depend on the specific vehicle, model year, installed control units, and software configuration.
Many vehicles provide only limited information through standard OBD diagnostics. CANchecked dedicated integrations can provide access to additional vehicle data through internal communication networks where supported.

Installation
The kit includes a vehicle-specific bezel and connection cable designed for compatible MINI R-Series dashboard installations.
The MFD15 Gen2 connects through the supplied Molex connectors and pre-assembled wiring. The supplied wiring includes connections intended for power supply, CAN Bus, analog inputs, 5V supply, and sensor ground.
The system is designed for installation without modification to the vehicle.
Professional installation by a qualified technician is recommended.
