Description

The CANchecked MFA2.0 Gen2 Multi Function Display brings modern vehicle monitoring and data display capabilities to the Mazda NA Miata MX-5, while maintaining the clean, driver-focused appearance of the original instrument cluster.

Designed specifically for cluster installation, the MFA2.0 uses a compact 1.5-inch OLED display integrated into a vehicle-specific cluster bezel. Its high-visibility display provides access to important engine and vehicle information while maintaining an OEM-inspired appearance.

The MFA2.0 can monitor a wide range of available vehicle and sensor data, including boost pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, exhaust gas temperature, ethanol content, air-fuel ratio, and other parameters. Its compatibility with aftermarket ECUs and external sensors makes it suitable for naturally aspirated, turbocharged, supercharged, and standalone ECU-equipped NA Miata builds.

The Gen2 platform adds integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to configure the display, update firmware, upload custom startup screens, and review logged vehicle data using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Multiple display layouts, configurable warning thresholds, programmable alarms, and flexible sensor configuration allow the MFA2.0 to be tailored to different driving and vehicle setups.

An integrated multi-color LED indicator can function as either a configurable shift light or warning light. Users can configure colors, RPM thresholds, and alert conditions for immediate visual feedback during spirited driving, track use, or competition.

With support for up to six analog sensor inputs, vehicle data integration, ethanol monitoring, and extensive display customization, the MFA2.0 Gen2 transforms the NA Miata's factory instrument cluster into a compact and highly configurable vehicle monitoring system.

Display & Monitoring Functions

The MFA2.0 provides a compact interface for monitoring available engine and vehicle parameters.

Depending on the vehicle's ECU and connected sensors, supported information can include:

  • Boost pressure
  • Oil temperature
  • Coolant temperature
  • Exhaust gas temperature
  • Ethanol content
  • Air-fuel ratio
  • Engine and vehicle data
  • Additional analog sensor parameters

Available data depends on the vehicle configuration, ECU, communication protocol, and connected sensors.

Analog Sensor Support

The MFA2.0 Gen2 supports up to six analog sensor inputs, allowing additional vehicle parameters to be monitored beyond the information available through the vehicle's communication system.

The supplied wiring includes connections for power, vehicle data, analog inputs, 5V supply, and sensor ground. Terminal pins are also included for custom wiring configurations.

This makes the display suitable for vehicles equipped with aftermarket or standalone ECUs and additional performance sensors.

Wi-Fi & Configuration

The integrated Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to configure and manage the MFA2.0 without requiring direct access to the display.

Supported functions include:

  • Display configuration
  • Firmware updates
  • Custom startup screen uploads
  • Logged-data monitoring
  • Display customization
  • Sensor configuration

The Gen2 platform provides additional flexibility for adapting the display to individual vehicle configurations.

Shift Light & Warning Functions

The integrated multi-color LED can be configured as either a shift light or warning indicator.

Users can configure available LED colors, RPM thresholds, and warning conditions to provide immediate visual feedback during performance driving.

This functionality can be used for shift indication, temperature warnings, pressure alerts, or other supported vehicle parameters.

Installation

The MFA2.0 Gen2 is designed to be integrated directly into the Mazda NA Miata's factory instrument cluster using the supplied vehicle-specific cluster bezel.

The included Gen2 rotary knob provides an additional control interface, while the supplied Molex connectors, pre-assembled wiring, and terminal pins provide the necessary connections for installation and sensor integration.

Installation should be completed according to the applicable CANchecked installation instructions and the specific requirements of the vehicle and ECU.

Vehicle Compatibility & Data Availability

CANchecked products communicate with vehicles through available vehicle communication protocols and CAN Bus systems. Compatibility and available data depend on the vehicle manufacturer, model, model year, installed control units, ECU, software, and communication protocol.

The NA Miata application can also be used with compatible aftermarket and standalone ECU configurations where supported data and sensor inputs are available.

Not all displayed values are intended for diagnostic or safety-critical purposes. Displayed data should not be relied upon as the sole source for vehicle operation, diagnostics, maintenance, tuning, or safety-related decisions.

Customers are responsible for verifying compatibility with their specific vehicle and ECU before purchase and installation.
