Nuke Performance Coolant Expansion Tanks & Radiator Caps | XPH

18th Aug 2026

When a high-performance engine is producing more heat and operating under greater thermal loads, the cooling system needs to be engineered with the same level of attention as the engine itself. Coolant expansion, system pressure, air separation, and reliable coolant circulation all become increasingly important in demanding street, track, and motorsport applications.

Nuke Performance offers a range of cooling-system components designed around these requirements, including lightweight aluminum coolant expansion tanks, precision-calibrated Type-A radiator caps, and a weld-on radiator filler neck for custom cooling-system fabrication.

The five products featured here cover different aspects of a performance cooling system, from compact expansion tanks to custom radiator fabrication.

Nuke Performance 0.8L Performance Coolant Expansion Tank

The Nuke Performance 0.8L Performance Coolant Expansion Tank is designed for applications where advanced coolant deaeration and controlled coolant flow are priorities.

Unlike a conventional overflow reservoir, this expansion tank is designed to operate as an integrated part of a pressurized cooling system. Its dual-chamber construction incorporates an oversized Vortex chamber that uses rotational coolant flow to help separate air from the coolant.

Incoming coolant enters through an AN-6 ORB inlet, while two AN-10 ORB outlets provide flexible plumbing options for the main coolant return, air bleeding, or auxiliary coolant circulation.

The billet aluminum construction keeps weight under control while providing the durability required for high-temperature motorsport environments. A 32mm radiator neck allows the tank to use standard Type-A mini radiator caps, while the included aluminum mounting bracket simplifies integration into a custom cooling system.

The 0.8L Performance tank also includes a provision for coolant-level monitoring and an O-ring-sealed body designed for reliable operation in a pressurized system.

Nuke Performance Type-A Radiator Caps

The Nuke Performance Type-A "Mini" Radiator Caps are designed for cooling systems using a 32mm Type-A radiator neck.

Available in four pressure ratings, these radiator caps allow builders to select a pressure rating appropriate for their specific cooling-system requirements.

Available options include:

  • 1.1 BAR (16.0 PSI) — Part #452-01-011
  • 1.3 BAR (18.9 PSI) — Part #452-01-013
  • 1.5 BAR (21.8 PSI) — Part #452-01-015
  • 2.0 BAR (29.0 PSI) — Part #452-01-020

Increasing cooling-system pressure raises the boiling point of the coolant, providing additional boiling margin during high-load operation. However, higher pressure also increases stress on cooling-system components, so the highest available rating should not automatically be considered the best option.

Nuke Performance recommends selecting the lowest pressure cap that provides sufficient boiling margin for the specific application.

The caps feature stainless-steel valve and cap construction with silicone sealing material designed for durability under repeated exposure to heat and pressure.

Key Features

  • Designed for 32mm Type-A radiator necks

Building a More Purpose-Driven Cooling System

These Nuke Performance components address different requirements within a performance cooling system.

The 0.8L Performance expansion tank focuses on advanced internal coolant flow and deaeration through its dual-chamber Vortex design. The 1.0L and 1.5L tanks offer simpler single-chamber solutions with different capacity options.

The Type-A radiator caps provide selectable system-pressure control, while the 32mm weld-on filler neck gives custom fabricators a way to integrate the same radiator-cap standard directly into an aluminum cooling component.

Together, they provide a flexible foundation for building or upgrading custom pressurized cooling systems for performance vehicles, track cars, and motorsport applications.

Important Application Information

These products are primarily performance and custom cooling-system components rather than vehicle-specific direct-fit replacements. Before purchasing, verify the required tank capacity, mounting location, available space, hose routing, fitting sizes, radiator neck configuration, and pressure requirements for the intended application.

The Type-A radiator caps are designed for 32mm Type-A radiator necks, and the appropriate pressure rating should be selected based on the complete cooling system rather than simply choosing the highest available pressure.

The Type-A radiator caps are sold separately from the coolant expansion tanks and weld-on filler neck.

Note: Product-specific motorsport-use restrictions and manufacturer requirements should be observed before installation.
