Description

The Nuke Performance Coolant Expansion Tank, 0.8L Performance is a high-performance, motorsports-focused coolant expansion tank engineered for pressurized cooling systems where efficient coolant control, enhanced deaeration, durability, and reliable operation under extreme conditions are critical.

Manufactured from lightweight billet aluminum and featuring an oversized Vortex chamber, this dual-chamber expansion tank is designed to become an integrated part of the pressurized cooling system rather than functioning as a conventional overflow tank. Its optimized internal flow path helps separate air from the coolant, stabilize coolant circulation, and maintain consistent system performance during demanding high-performance and motorsports applications.

Oversized Vortex Chamber for Enhanced Deaeration

At the core of the Nuke Performance 0.8L Performance coolant expansion tank is its oversized Vortex chamber. Incoming hot coolant enters tangentially through the AN-6 ORB inlet, creating rotational flow inside the chamber.

The increased internal volume of the Vortex chamber improves air separation efficiency while helping stabilize coolant circulation. This optimized flow design provides more effective deaeration than conventional simplified coolant tanks and supports consistent cooling system performance under demanding operating conditions.

The internal dual-chamber layout incorporates controlled cross-flow passages at both the top and bottom of the tank. This configuration promotes stable coolant movement, controlled air separation, and consistent pressure management throughout the pressurized cooling system.

AN-6 ORB Inlet and Dual AN-10 ORB Outlets

The upper AN-6 ORB inlet is positioned to direct incoming hot coolant directly into the oversized Vortex chamber. This positioning initiates the rotational coolant flow required for efficient air separation and controlled circulation.

Two AN-10 ORB outlet ports are integrated into the bottom section of the expansion tank. The primary AN-10 ORB outlet is positioned directly beneath the Vortex chamber, while the secondary outlet is located in the calmer section of the tank and can be used for air bleeding or an auxiliary coolant return.

This inlet and outlet configuration provides a wide range of installation and plumbing possibilities while supporting stable coolant circulation and effective system deaeration.

Type-A Radiator Cap Compatibility

The Nuke Performance Coolant Expansion Tank uses a 32mm radiator neck designed for standard mini Type-A radiator caps. The compatible radiator cap system allows the cooling system to be configured with different pressure ratings depending on the requirements of the application.

Available Type-A radiator cap pressure ratings include:

  • 1.1 BAR (16.0 PSI), Part # 452-01-011
  • 1.3 BAR (18.9 PSI), Part # 452-01-013
  • 1.5 BAR (21.8 PSI), Part # 452-01-015
  • 2.0 BAR (29.0 PSI), Part # 452-01-020

Cooling system pressure directly affects coolant boiling point. The lowest pressure radiator cap that provides sufficient boiling margin for the application should always be selected. While higher system pressure can increase thermal stability and raise the coolant boiling point, it also places additional stress on cooling system components.

The stated radiator cap pressure represents the nominal release pressure and operates within a defined tolerance range.

Pressurized Cooling System Design

Unlike a basic overflow reservoir, the Nuke Performance 0.8L Performance expansion tank is engineered to function as an integrated component of a pressurized cooling system.

Its dual-chamber construction, controlled internal cross-flow passages, oversized Vortex chamber, and O-ring sealed body work together to provide controlled coolant movement, improved air separation, and reliable pressure management.

The tank is engineered to withstand the heat and pressure associated with high-performance engines and motorsports applications while maintaining stable coolant circulation.

Swedish Engineering and Billet Aluminum Construction

Designed and developed in Sweden, the Nuke Performance Coolant Expansion Tank 0.8L Performance is engineered in-house with a focus on performance, durability, materials, and optimized cooling system functionality.

Its lightweight billet aluminum construction provides a durable solution for demanding motorsports environments. The oversized Vortex chamber and optimized internal flow design were developed to deliver enhanced deaeration and reliable coolant management under real-world racing conditions.

Important Notes

The Type-A radiator cap is not included with the expansion tank.

The product is intended only for motorsports use.

The expansion tank is designed as part of a pressurized cooling system and is not intended to function as a simple overflow reservoir.

Always select a radiator cap pressure rating appropriate for the specific cooling system and application. Higher pressure increases coolant boiling resistance but also increases stress on cooling system components.
