Description
The Verus Engineering Side Splitter Kit - Club Spec for the Mazda MX-5 Miata ND combines functional aerodynamic performance with a clean, aggressive appearance. Verus Engineering developed the Club Spec Side Splitter with both aesthetics and performance in mind. By limiting the amount of high-pressure air flowing from the upper surface of the vehicle to the lower surface, the side splitters help improve aerodynamic performance and generate additional downforce with minimal impact on drag.
The side splitters are manufactured from hard, durable plastic that can withstand minor impacts without shattering, making them well suited to both street-driven and track-focused ND Miatas. Engineering & Aerodynamic Design
The Verus Engineering Side Splitter Kit was developed to reduce the amount of high-pressure airflow traveling from the top side of the vehicle to the lower side. This helps reduce aerodynamic lift and improves the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the ND Miata.
Testing showed that the side splitters can reduce vehicle lift by 6 points without increasing drag. This allows the component to provide an aerodynamic benefit without introducing a significant straight-line performance penalty.
The side splitters are particularly effective when integrated into a complete aerodynamic package. When combined with other Verus Engineering components in a Ventus aero setup, they help contribute to a more balanced and effective aerodynamic configuration for high-speed driving and track use.
