Description
The Verus Engineering Dual Element Dive Plane Kit for the Porsche 981 GT4 is engineered to increase front-end downforce while maintaining a minimal increase in aerodynamic drag. The dual-element design also helps direct clean, high-pressure airflow toward the factory intake ducts, supporting both aerodynamic performance and engine airflow.
Designed using detailed 3D scan data, the dive planes were developed in CAD and optimized through CFD analysis in ANSYS Fluent to provide an effective and balanced aerodynamic solution.
The dive planes, also commonly referred to as canards, allow the aerodynamic balance of the Porsche 981 GT4 to be shifted forward. This can help improve front-end grip and provides additional adjustment to the vehicle's aero balance, particularly when running a large rear wing or rear diffuser.
The system is designed to provide a safe aerodynamic balance with or without the Verus Engineering Rear Diffuser, making it suitable for both street-driven and track-focused 981 GT4 builds.
Each dive plane is manufactured from 1.5mm thick 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon fiber, autoclave cured and finished with a matte, UV-resistant automotive-grade clear coat.

Aerodynamic Science
Dive planes provide a way to tune the aerodynamic balance of a vehicle by shifting more aerodynamic load toward the front without requiring a significantly larger front splitter.
For a street-driven Porsche 981 GT4, increasing splitter size can make the vehicle more difficult to use on public roads. The Verus Engineering Dual Element Dive Plane Kit provides an alternative method of generating additional front-end downforce while maintaining a more street-friendly aerodynamic package.
The system was developed specifically to work with the Verus Engineering Ventus 2 Aero Kit, helping provide sufficient front-end aerodynamic load to balance the larger rear wing and rear diffuser used in that configuration.
The dive planes can therefore help create a more balanced aerodynamic setup while improving front-end grip and allowing the driver to fine-tune the vehicle toward a forward-biased aero balance.
High-Pressure Intake Airflow
In addition to their aerodynamic function, the dual dive planes were developed to help feed the factory intake ducts with cleaner, higher-pressure air.
At high vehicle speeds, increased pressure at the intake can potentially create a small ram-air or supercharging effect, producing positive pressure within the intake system. According to Verus Engineering, this can contribute to improved horsepower and torque.
The design also helps ensure that the Porsche 981 GT4 intake receives the coldest available air possible at the intake filter, supporting consistent engine performance during high-speed driving.
Installation
The Dual Element Dive Plane Kit includes dedicated installation templates to assist with accurate positioning on the front bumper.
The dive planes can be installed using the supplied stainless steel hardware for a bolt-on installation or with the included 3M VHB double-sided tape, providing flexibility depending on the intended installation.
