This performance-focused bundle combines a reinforced silicone intake hose with an oversized turbo inlet elbow to improve airflow through the intake tract and increase the potential airflow capacity at the turbocharger inlet.
The kit provides a direct replacement for the factory intake components while retaining compatibility with the OEM air box and intake system. It is also suitable for vehicles equipped with aftermarket induction kits that mount in the original factory air box position.
Silicone Intake Hose
The included Ramair Silicone Intake Hose replaces the standard OEM plastic induction hose and features a constant-radius design to help reduce restriction in the initial stage of the intake tract. The smoother internal path promotes more consistent airflow toward the turbocharger while providing a durable alternative to the factory pipework.
Manufactured from high-quality multi-ply silicone with fabric mesh reinforcement, the hose offers excellent durability and structural rigidity. The reinforced construction helps prevent the hose from collapsing under high engine load, helping maintain consistent airflow during spirited driving and demanding operating conditions.
The intake hose is supplied with two high-quality stainless steel W2 hose clamps, replacing the difficult-to-use OEM spring clamps. These clamps provide a secure connection while making installation and future maintenance easier.
The blue silicone intake hose can be used with the standard factory air box or with an aftermarket induction kit that mounts in the original air box position, providing flexibility for a wide range of intake configurations.
Oversize Turbo Inlet Elbow
The included Oversize Turbo Inlet Elbow is designed as a direct replacement for the standard turbo inlet elbow used with compatible IHI turbochargers on 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI EA888 engines in MQB-platform vehicles.
Its oversized design provides increased potential airflow to the turbocharger, helping reduce restriction at the turbo inlet. The upgraded inlet can also produce a slightly increased induction sound, adding a more pronounced intake character during acceleration.
The turbo inlet elbow is compatible with the OEM intake hose and factory air box and is supplied with the fittings required for installation. A replacement O-ring is included in case the original factory seal is worn or perished.
The inlet elbow is manufactured from lightweight aluminum tube and features CNC-machined connections, a laser-cut mounting bracket, and fully TIG-welded construction. The component is finished in a textured black powder coat, providing a clean OEM-style appearance and durable surface protection.
The kit also includes clear, step-by-step photographic installation instructions to assist with installation.
