Unlock significantly more performance from your BMW S68-powered X5 M or X6 M with the CarBahn Performance 790 HP Stage 1 Performance Controller. This plug-and-play CarBahn Performance Controller (CPC) is designed for the F95 X5 M and F96 X6 M, including Competition models from 2024 through 2026.
The CPC increases boost pressure in turbocharged applications to deliver substantial gains in horsepower and torque while allowing you to select different fuel-specific performance maps through a Bluetooth-connected smartphone app. Depending on fuel octane, the controller produces up to 790 HP and 752 lb-ft of calculated flywheel torque.

CarBahn Performance Controller (CPC)
The CarBahn Performance Controller is a plug-and-play ECU performance solution designed to increase boost pressure in turbocharged vehicles for substantial horsepower and torque gains.
The CPC features selectable performance maps controlled through a Bluetooth smartphone app, allowing the user to select a calibration appropriate for different fuel octane levels.
Available maps include:
- 91 Octane
- 93 Octane
- 100 Octane
The selectable maps allow the controller to accommodate different fuel grades while providing additional performance.
Future Software Upgrade
If you decide to upgrade from the CarBahn Performance Controller to software tuning in the future, a $500 upgrade fee applies. If the optional CarBahn powertrain warranty was purchased with the controller, the warranty can be transferred to the software upgrade at no additional charge.
Self-Tuning Information
CarBahn notes that there are self-tuning tools available that allow vehicle owners to modify engine calibrations themselves. Many of these tools use preconfigured programs. Tuning a high-output engine requires substantial knowledge and experience to maximize performance while avoiding engine damage.
Emissions & Downpipe Information
CarBahn notes that removing the catalytic converter can make it difficult to pass required emissions testing and is illegal in applicable circumstances. According to CarBahn, back-to-back dyno testing with the catalytic converter installed and removed showed a power difference of approximately 11 HP, which CarBahn states is substantially smaller than some commonly claimed gains.
High Boost With a Stock Engine
CarBahn cautions that excessive power increases on a stock engine can result in engine damage. Modern high-performance engines are designed for substantial output, but modifications such as larger turbochargers and water-methanol injection can increase engine stress.
For the F9X platform, CarBahn states that 800 lb-ft of flywheel torque is the maximum safe power level for a stock engine. CarBahn also offers high-performance engines designed to support higher power levels.

Warranty Information
An optional CarBahn powertrain warranty is available. Registration with CarBahn Autoworks at the time of purchase is required to maintain matching warranty coverage. CarBahn Autoworks reserves the right to deny warranty program enrollment under certain conditions.
The warranty is valid on U.S. and Canadian specification vehicles only.
If the vehicle is currently covered by the vehicle manufacturer's new-car limited warranty, CarBahn Autoworks products are warranted for the remaining term of the manufacturer's new-car limited warranty. The manufacturer warranty is limited to 4 years or 50,000 miles, or 80,000 kilometers in Canada, beginning on the date of first retail sale or when the vehicle is first placed into service as a demonstrator or company vehicle, whichever occurs first.
CarBahn Autoworks warranties are transferable when ownership of the vehicle into which the CarBahn Autoworks products were originally installed is sold.
During the applicable warranty period, CarBahn Autoworks will, without charge for parts or labor, repair or replace defective CarBahn Autoworks components and any original vehicle manufacturer components that were directly affected by a CarBahn Autoworks component, using new or authorized remanufactured parts. The decision to repair or replace components is at the sole discretion of CarBahn Autoworks. Replaced parts supplied under the limited warranty become the property of CarBahn Autoworks. A reasonable period must be allowed for warranty repairs to be completed.
For vehicles outside the manufacturer's new-car limited warranty, CarBahn Autoworks will, for two years from the original purchase date of the CarBahn Autoworks product, repair or replace, at its sole discretion, defective CarBahn Autoworks components. This coverage does not include reimbursement for repairs to original vehicle manufacturer components that may have been affected by a CarBahn Autoworks component.
Warranty Exclusions
Warranty coverage excludes the following:
- Return shipping charges
- Towing charges
- Rental car fees
- Damage caused by installing replacement parts with specifications materially different from the original vehicle manufacturer or CarBahn Autoworks parts
- Damage caused by unauthorized modification of a CarBahn Autoworks part or assembly
- Damage resulting from using other manufacturers' products with CarBahn Autoworks products or systems
- Clutch damage caused by power shifting or abuse
- Brake rotor warping
- Friction materials
- Maintenance services and maintenance replacement parts, including spark plugs, lubricants, fluids, engine tune-up parts, filters, coolant, and refrigerant
- Mechanical adjustments or repairs resulting from normal wear and tear
- Drive belts
- Light bulbs
- Damage caused by failure to perform maintenance at specified intervals or according to the original vehicle manufacturer or CarBahn Autoworks instructions
- Damage attributable to negligence or abuse
- Improper installation
- Improper treatment or treatment contrary to the owner's manual or CarBahn Autoworks product instructions
- Engine damage resulting from alteration of CarBahn Autoworks' original boost pressure
- Damage resulting from improper or contaminated fuel
- Damage caused by corrosion resulting from weak or improper coolant
- Damage to CarBahn Autoworks components resulting from collision or improper collision repairs
- Vehicles operated in competitive events or subjected to aggressive track conditions
- Custom-designed competition parts
- Damage resulting from loss of time, inconvenience, or loss of vehicle use
- Damage resulting from environmental influences, flood, accident, fire, or road salt corrosion
- Remanufactured or refurbished products or components, which are covered only for the warranty period specified for the particular product
