Description
The Verus Engineering Carbon Hood Louver Kit for the Mk5 Toyota Supra is a functional aerodynamic and thermal-management upgrade designed to reduce underhood pressure and temperature while helping improve front-end aerodynamic performance.
Using advanced CFD analysis, Verus Engineering identified a low-pressure area on the Supra's hood where a louver could maximize the evacuation of hot engine-bay air. By allowing hot air to escape through the hood, the louver helps reduce underhood pressure and improve cooling efficiency.
Reducing underhood pressure also provides an aerodynamic benefit. When air pressure beneath the hood is reduced, there is less upward force acting on the hood, which can increase front-end downforce and improve front-end grip. This makes the Carbon Hood Louver Kit particularly useful for track-focused Mk5 Supra builds where controlling engine-bay temperatures and improving high-speed aerodynamic performance are important.
The louver was developed using scan data to achieve an OEM-style fit and finish while being specifically contoured to the shape of the Mk5 Toyota Supra hood. Its placement was carefully selected to remove heat effectively while maintaining the structural integrity of the factory hood.
The louver is manufactured from pre-preg 2x2 twill carbon fiber and autoclave cured for strength and consistency. Installation uses supplied 3M VHB double-sided tape along with a paper cut template to help achieve accurate positioning.

The Verus Engineering Carbon Hood Louver is positioned in a carefully selected low-pressure area of the Supra's hood to maximize underhood air evacuation. The louver's design encourages hot engine-bay air to exit through the hood rather than remaining trapped inside the engine compartment.
