Designed for BMW models equipped with the S58 engine, this plug-and-play LPFP solution provides increased fuel delivery capacity for demanding performance applications while maintaining a straightforward, vehicle-specific installation.

Unlike conventional aftermarket LPFP solutions that require drilling, cutting, or permanent modification of the factory fuel bucket, the SPOOL Stage 3 LPFP Kit uses a proprietary three-piece mounting bracket system that secures directly into the factory fuel tank assembly. This allows the auxiliary fuel pump to be installed as a true drop-in solution without modifying the factory fuel bucket.

Vehicle-Specific Mounting Bracket

BMW uses different fuel tank configurations across the G-chassis and related S58 applications. For this reason, please provide your vehicle's year, make, model, or VIN when placing your order. SPOOL will use this information to determine the correct mounting bracket for your application.

The bracket shown in the product images may not be identical to the bracket supplied with your kit. Bracket appearance may vary depending on the vehicle application, while functionality, fitment, and performance remain the same.

True Plug-and-Play Installation

The SPOOL Stage 3 LPFP Kit is designed to simplify auxiliary fuel pump installation without requiring modifications to the factory fuel bucket. The included three-piece bracket system locks directly into the factory fuel tank assembly, providing a secure mounting solution for the additional fuel pump.

The supplied fuel hoses and fittings are designed to tee into the factory fuel line, providing a straightforward connection for the auxiliary fuel system. This makes the kit suitable for DIY installations as well as professional performance-shop installations.

For customers who prefer not to drill the factory fuel pump top hat for the power wiring, SPOOL also offers an optional pre-drilled OEM fuel pump top hat for $50. Contact SPOOL at sales@spoolperformance.us to request this option or include the request in your order notes.

Harness Options

The SPOOL Stage 3 LPFP Kit is available with multiple harness configurations to accommodate different fuel-control strategies and performance setups.

SPOOL Hobbs Switch Harness

The Hobbs Switch Harness uses the included 10 PSI Hobbs pressure switch to activate the secondary fuel pump under boost.

The Hobbs switch can be connected by either:

• Tapping into the charge pipe
• Using the optional fitting to tee into the intake manifold

The harness connects directly to the battery for power and ground, routes to the auxiliary fuel pump, and then continues into the engine bay for connection to the Hobbs pressure switch.

This configuration is an ideal solution for applications that do not use a Reflex controller and require boost-based activation of the secondary fuel pump.

Reflex Plug-and-Play Harness

The Reflex Plug-and-Play Harness is designed for Reflex-controlled applications that require both power and ground to activate the auxiliary fuel pump.

Depending on the existing Reflex harness configuration, the connector may require depinning and swapping the power and ground wires. This is a straightforward wiring procedure that can be completed by a knowledgeable performance shop.

The harness routes from the battery to the auxiliary fuel pump and connects to Auxiliary Output 2 on the aftermarket Reflex harness.

Reflex Flying Lead / Ground Trigger / Universal Harness

The Reflex Flying Lead / Ground Trigger / Universal Harness is designed for customers using the standard Motiv Reflex main harness and is one of the most popular harness options.

This configuration activates the auxiliary pump through a ground trigger using Auxiliary Output 2. Installation involves stripping the gray Aux 2 wire, connecting it with the supplied butt connector, and plugging the connector into the harness.

The supplied connector helps eliminate the need to source additional terminals or fabricate a custom connector, simplifying installation and reducing the potential for wiring issues caused by incorrect connector pinning.

Fuel Pump Options

Walbro 450

The Walbro 450 is recommended for the majority of street, drag racing, and high-performance applications. It provides increased fuel flow capacity for a wide range of performance builds while offering a proven and reliable fuel-pump solution.

Walbro 525

The Walbro 525 is recommended for higher-horsepower applications that require additional fuel flow capacity.

Because the Walbro 525 has a higher current draw, SPOOL strongly recommends pairing it with the SPOOL PWM Harness. Running a standard relay harness with a Walbro 525, especially in hot climates, can place excessive load on the relay and potentially lead to premature relay failure.
