The IPD Competition 82mm Intake Plenum is a premium airflow upgrade engineered to maximize the performance potential of the Porsche 981 Cayman platform, including Base, S, GTS, GT4, and Clubsport variants from 2013–2016. Developed through an extensive research and development program, this system combines IPD’s patented plenum technology with the larger Porsche 997 GT3 82mm throttle body to deliver significant gains in horsepower, torque, and throttle response.
Unlike standard intake upgrades, the IPD Competition Plenum is designed to optimize airflow efficiency throughout the entire engine operating range. 82mm Competition Throttle Body Upgrade:
All IPD 981 Competition Plenums are designed exclusively for use with the Porsche 997 GT3 82mm throttle body.
Compared to the factory 74mm throttle body, the 82mm unit provides increased airflow capacity, reduced intake restriction, improved throttle sensitivity, and stronger high-RPM performance. This setup is widely used by enthusiasts seeking maximum naturally aspirated performance from the 981 platform.
Note: Porsche 997 GT3 82mm throttle body is required and sold separately.
Internal Dimpling Technology:
The IPD Competition Plenum features a precision internal dimpling design engineered to improve airflow dynamics within the intake system.
This technology helps control the boundary layer of incoming air, reducing resistance and improving overall efficiency. Similar to how a dimpled golf ball travels farther than a smooth one, controlled turbulent airflow reduces friction and improves the efficiency of movement through the plenum.
