The IE HPFP Upgrade Kit includes two complete internal upgrade sets for both high-pressure fuel pumps on the Audi 4.0T twin-turbo engine (EA824), found in the C7/C7.5 S6, S7, and RS7. Designed for ethanol fuel compatibility and hybrid turbo applications, this upgrade significantly increases fueling headroom. With a 38.58% increase in flow capacity, this kit is essential for reliable power delivery at higher boost levels and aggressive ECU calibrations.

Flow & Performance Gains

Added Fuel Displacement
Each pump features a piston diameter increased to 11.67mm—the largest practical size within the factory housing—substantially improving flow. Stroke volume is increased to support ethanol blends and hybrid turbo systems without fuel starvation at high load.

Flow Bench Testing
Extensive flow testing confirms a 38.58% gain in fuel delivery compared to stock internals. This provides the fueling capacity required for aggressive tuning strategies, E40–E85 use, and high-output turbo upgrades.


Engineering & Materials

Constant Diameter Pin Design
Unlike stepped pins that create instability and wear, IE uses a constant diameter piston design, improving piston stroke stability and increasing cylinder contact area by over 50%. This results in smoother operation, reduced wear, and greater long-term durability.

DLC-Coated Pin
The tool steel piston pin is coated in Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) for self-lubrication, excellent wear resistance, and low friction—significantly extending pump life in high-RPM environments.

Nitrided Cylinder
The tool steel cylinder is nitrided to endure up to 19,000 strokes per minute with minimal wear. Nitriding alters the material’s atomic structure for exceptional hardness and fuel-only lubrication reliability.

Leak-Free High-Pressure Seal
A spring-energized molybdenum disulfide seal is housed in a stainless-steel body, providing a durable and friction-resistant barrier. A Buna-N rubber O-ring ensures a fuel-tight seal that withstands pressure, heat, and alcohol-blended fuels.
