Description
Unlock the performance potential of the BMW E60 M5 and its high-revving S85 V10 engine with the Infinity Design E60 M5 ECU Tune. This ECU calibration has been offered for over a decade, with vehicles running the tune across the world while delivering enhanced drivability, sharper throttle response, and improved performance.
Developed by Salman Janjua, former head of development and previous owner of Evolve, the calibration has been developed and tested across multiple company and personally owned vehicles, both on the road and on the dyno, with a multitude of available calibration options.
The Infinity Design E60 M5 ECU Tune can be configured to operate with the factory MAF system or without MAF sensors using Alpha-N mode, providing flexibility for different vehicle configurations and modifications.
Product Highlights
- +25-25 HP
- +20 lb-ft torque
- OBDII cable supplied
- Improved throttle response
- Sharper throttle response
- Smoother overall power delivery
- Remote tuning
- Alpha-N and MAF operating modes
Performance Testing
Independent dyno testing was performed on a BMW E60 M5 equipped with Primary DeCAT.
The BMW S85 V10 engine responds exceptionally well to ECU calibration, with changes made to the ignition, VANOS, and torque maps.
Testing demonstrated a realistic and repeatable peak gain of approximately 30 hp at 7800 RPM, with a 20 lb-ft torque gain at 6250 RPM. A peak gain of approximately 35 hp was achieved at 8000 RPM.
Power gains are delivered throughout the RPM range and are accompanied by sharper throttle response and smoother overall power delivery.
S85 ECU Calibration
The Infinity Design ECU tune is specifically developed around the BMW S85 V10 engine. Calibration changes are made to multiple engine-management parameters to optimize performance and power delivery.
The available calibration adjustments include:
- Ignition maps
- Fuel maps
- Torque maps
- VANOS maps
The combination of these calibration changes is designed to improve power throughout the RPM range while enhancing throttle response and maintaining smooth power delivery.
Available Tuning Options
- Alpha-N Mode
- MAF Mode
- Raised RPM limit to 8600 RPM
- Top speed limit removal
- Cold start delete / CAT warm-up delete
- Power calibrations with changes to ignition, fuel, torque, and VANOS maps
- Stage 2 calibration for vehicles with long-tube headers and CATless exhaust systems
- Custom tuning for vehicles equipped with superchargers, camshafts, and cylinder head modifications
Custom tuning for heavily modified engines is available separately; please inquire for pricing.
MAF and Alpha-N Operation
The Infinity Design E60 M5 ECU Tune can be configured to operate with the factory MAF system or without MAF sensors using Alpha-N mode. This allows the calibration to accommodate different intake and engine configurations.
Tuning Process
The E60 M5 ECU tune is supplied remotely and includes an OBDII cable and software. The supplied equipment allows the ECU calibration to be installed through the vehicle's OBDII connection.
