Description
The GiroDisc 2-Piece Slotted Rear Rotors for the 2023+ Toyota GR Corolla are a high-performance upgrade designed to replace the factory rear brake discs with a larger, lightweight, fully floating rotor assembly. These rotors improve braking consistency, cooling efficiency, and durability while reducing unsprung weight and rotating mass.
The GiroDisc rear rotors are larger than the OEM discs and include the required caliper spacers and longer caliper bolts to properly reposition the factory caliper. No additional modifications are required, making installation straightforward while providing increased braking performance.
Each rotor weighs approximately 10.4 lbs, helping reduce rear axle weight for better suspension response, improved handling, and more consistent braking under aggressive driving conditions.
The rotor rings are manufactured from a proprietary high-carbon iron casting built to GiroDisc specifications for superior strength and heat resistance. The internal 48 curved vane design acts as a centrifugal pump, drawing air through the rotor to maximize cooling during heavy braking and track use.
The two-piece construction uses a reusable aluminum hat that can be paired with replacement rotor rings when worn, making long-term maintenance more cost-effective. All major components are manufactured in-house using domestically sourced materials to ensure consistent quality and performance.
The hat is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a black anodized coating for corrosion resistance. High-strength steel drive pins are cadmium-plated for durability, and the floating hardware uses spring clips and Belleville washers to provide race-ready float while remaining quiet for street use.
Rotor rings should be replaced when thickness reaches 16mm minimum, or if cracking extends to the outer edge of the ring.
