Description
The GiroDisc Front 2-Piece Iron Conversion Slotted Rotors for the 2022+ Audi RS3 (8Y) are designed as a direct replacement for the factory 380mm carbon ceramic front rotors, allowing you to convert to a high-performance iron rotor setup while retaining the factory calipers. This conversion provides excellent durability, improved serviceability, and lower replacement cost, making it ideal for both street and track use.
These fully floating 2-piece rotor assemblies bolt directly in place of the original carbon ceramic rotors with no modifications required other than changing the rotors and brake pads. The pad shape remains the same as the carbon ceramic setup, but a pad compound designed specifically for iron rotors must be used for proper performance.
The rotor rings are machined from a proprietary high-carbon iron casting engineered to GiroDisc specifications for superior strength, heat resistance, and longevity. Each rotor features 72 curved internal vanes that act as a centrifugal pump, pulling air through the rotor to maximize cooling during aggressive driving and track use.
The two-piece design uses a reusable aluminum hat that can be paired with replacement rings when worn, reducing long-term maintenance cost. All components are manufactured in-house using domestically sourced materials to ensure consistent quality and performance.
The rotor hat is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a black anodized coating for corrosion resistance. High-strength alloy steel drive pins are cadmium-plated for durability, and the floating hardware uses spring clips and Belleville washers to provide race-ready float while remaining quiet for street driving.
Rotor rings should be replaced when thickness reaches 34mm minimum, or if cracking extends to the edge of the ring.
