The Evolution Racewerks Sports Series High Flow Catted Downpipes are engineered for maximum performance, durability, and plug-and-play compatibility on the 2018–2023 BMW F90 M5 and F92/F93 M8 equipped with the S63M twin-turbo V8 engine. Manufactured in-house in the USA, these downpipes replace the restrictive factory primary catalytic converters with high-flow 200-cell metallic units designed to dramatically improve exhaust efficiency, turbo response, and overall horsepower delivery.
The S63M platform is equipped with a total of four catalytic converters—two primary and two secondary. The ER Sports Series Downpipes replace the primary converters with high-flow cores and remove the secondary converters, unlocking substantial exhaust flow gains. The 200-cell metallic substrate increases exhaust velocity by reducing restriction in the catalyst brick itself. Higher flow results in quicker turbo spool, stronger initial torque, improved throttle response, and a more aggressive power curve throughout the RPM range. Metallic cores also withstand extreme heat better than factory ceramic materials, offering improved long-term durability, reduced weight, and stable performance under repeated high-load conditions.
Each downpipe is built from 100% 304 stainless steel, using mandrel-bent 3" tubing to maintain consistent diameter and eliminate turbulence. Every unit is 100% TIG welded by ER’s in-house fabricators. The turbo-side flange is a precision CNC-machined 3.5" V-Band piece replicated exactly from the OEM turbine housing for a perfect fit. Stainless steel CNC-machined O2 bungs and laser-cut brackets retain factory sensor placement and mounting locations. These downpipes install seamlessly with the factory exhaust or any aftermarket system and retain the OEM slip-fit connection style. All required hardware is included, and each set is backed by Evolution Racewerks’ Limited Lifetime Warranty.
For regions using the OPF (Otto Particulate Filter) system, ER offers full OPF-compatible versions that maintain functionality of the vehicle’s emissions equipment.
Optional ceramic thermal coating is available. This coating helps retain heat inside the downpipe, lowering underhood temperatures, increasing exhaust gas velocity, reducing backpressure, and adding corrosion protection. ER uses a premium ceramic coating rated for up to 2000°F, offered exclusively in black.
Standard finish is brushed stainless steel, with mirror polish also available.
