After years of development, Dorch Engineering introduces the world’s first true upgraded direct injection injector for the BMW B58 Gen 1 platform. Until now, increased DI flow was only possible by modifying OEM injectors, a solution that inherently compromises reliability and drivability. Dorch Engineering took a different approach.
Through a long-term engineering partnership with Stanadyne, the DE1500 injector was designed entirely from the ground up. By combining Dorch’s hardware and software expertise with Stanadyne’s patented manufacturing technology, the result is a Tier 1 OEM-quality, drop-in injector that delivers massive fueling gains without sacrificing idle quality or daily drivability.
Because the DE1500 starts from a clean-sheet design, every aspect has been optimized for high-performance and alcohol-based fuels. Material selection ensures excellent E85 compatibility and long-term reliability, while an advanced magnetic design provides precise ballistic control. This allows superior low pulse-width fueling and complete control of the spray pattern, enabling over 100% flow increases while maintaining smooth pump-gas idle behavior.
The DE1500 is the initial release for B58 Gen 1 and provides a true 70% increase in flow over stock injectors. These gains are achieved while retaining OEM drivability, cold starts, and idle characteristics. High flow alone is easy to achieve; combining that flow with factory-like behavior is what sets the DE1500 apart from all other solutions.
