The CSF FL5 Honda Civic Type R Dual Engine Oil Cooler Kit is a complete, track-tested solution for controlling high oil temperatures on stock and modified vehicles. Testing revealed FL5 engines regularly reach over 275°F (135°C) under aggressive driving conditions, making this kit essential for both street and track performance. CSF engineered its first complete oil cooler kit for the FL5, delivering significant cooling improvements, durability, and an aggressive aesthetic.

Design & Engineering:
The FL5 K20C1 engine lacks factory provisions for an external oil cooler, and space constraints in the front bumper area limit mounting options. CSF designed a ducted side bumper placement to optimize airflow and avoid heat interference with the radiator and intercooler. The kit uses two compact CSF #8119 oil coolers in series, delivering maximum cooling while maintaining serviceability.

Oil Coolers:

• Two 13" x 4.5" (33cm x 11.5cm) dual pass high-performance oil coolers

• Bar/Plate core design for strength, durability, and weight reduction

• 100% TIG welded construction with cast end tanks, pressure-tested to 120 PSI

• Smooth 40-degree feed/return fittings to reduce pressure drop

Pressure Drop & Testing:
Adding an external oil cooler can reduce oil pressure. CSF testing showed a minor drop with 0W-20 oil, resolved by switching to 0W-30 for high-performance track use. Oil pressure remains safe for both street and track applications.
